...but neither to FAILURE failure, just where it's hard enough I know I will not hurt myself. I kinda get scared to be honest.
 
just out of curiousity why do you hate pm weight sessions? i wish i could get up like you and kill it first thing....i just don't have the energy in the monring. i'm close to buying either some cb or trex to help with that so i can do it in the am

LOL @ power cleans to failure...that'd be a scary sight, we'll leave those for BiggT lol

shrug and then i do a pelvis hip thrusting motion, eh, you'll get the hang of it :) just don't hump the bar too hard and hurt your delicate self ;)

I just don't have the energy in the evening. :) I also train in AM on EMPTY as well ... lol :) I stopped having a DWOS a while back & still having very good progress ... my body is so weird. :whatever:

I was talking about front/back squats to failure.

i'm sure you had another in the tank to hit 135x4 on front is what i'm sayin' :) you can do it.

Do you have an adjustable safty bar rack you can squat in... so you can dump the bar if you have to? I'd do that if i had an option... that way you can bail if you want.

I dont wanna dump the bar though... yes I do but to me they aren't that sturdy.
 
PR Squatting and Dumping the Bar go hand in hand IMO. I know you aren't preparing for a powerlifting meet, but I would suggest "setting" the bar on the safteys at least once to get the feel of it. There is no shame to dumping and I think to really push 3-5 rep max's on squatting they are a neccesity.

I set the saftey pins about 1/2" below my bottom, so when I dump it is barely noticable noise wise. I have dumped in the past w/ several inches to spare and it does make quite a noise.

I lift at home & don't have safety bars. I think I would prolly try for more, if I did. Maybe I should look into buying a decent rack.
That kid was amazing! How much was he lifting?

Blut Wump got one a while back that he has rave reviews on - do a search and it should come up.

I agree - if you aren't worried about dropping weight or getting hurt you can push/pull/press more weight - simple as that.
