700 horsepower electric supercar unveiled

and why build a car that looks like it has a giant engine under the long hood if all it has are wheel motors and batteries?? The mid engine cars have proven to be a more stable setup so why not spread the batteries around the car instead of lumping all the weight up front like a normal car?? Seems they wanted to make an electric car that looks like a conventional car.......but because of the electric motors they really could have done some new and innovative shit with the chassis design.

Looks good. Sounds unlikely.

The performance numbers isn't what sounds unlikely.....electric motors have unlimited horsepower/torque given enough voltage. What sounds suspect is the 300 mile "tank" on a 10 minute charge.

i thought honda was screwing around with a diesel/electric model or vw??? i could have swore i seen it somewhere.

I actually went to school for design and studied in automotive design,

I think most of the reasoning for making the car look similar to other supercars is mostly due to the fact that people dont want something too too different,

I actually think this car has very similar proportions to the jaguar e types and the long nose/short tail design has always been associated to power and speed (Vettes, Jags, Front engine Ferraris)

i dunno the specs but im pretty sure that the engineering department has done some creative stuff in order to make the car handle well, even with all the batteries

just looked that up, that's awesome. "BUT", I was referring to more of a setup where the diesel or turbine is purely a generator. That VW hybrid is just like the prius except it uses a diesel instead of a gas engine. The parallel drivetrain thing is fine, but I'd like to see a pure electric performance car that get's it's voltage from a small high revving but fuel economical engine.

the way things are going now i wouldnt be suprised to see a prius sport or somethign along those lines, theres already hybird suvs which goes to show that the auto makers are trying to sell the hybird technology in popular market segments so there probably will be a demand for higher performance hybrids

I prefer the mid engine look myself........to me it actually looks meaner.
