@ $450/share - Apple is still the cheapest stock on the Market

and this is why....

- Stocks trade on future earnings potential.
- Big stable companies historically trade at 15 x earnings / share
- high growth companies trade at much higher multiples
- Google - 20 x earning
- Amazon - 90 x earnings
- EMC - 29 x earnings
- Aapl last QUARTER earnings were $13/share
- $13 x 4qtrs = $52 x 15 = $780/ share
- As they are a retailer and 4q earnings tend to be higher, lets use $13 Q4, $10Q1 - Q3
($13+10+10+10) = 43 x 15 = $645 / share

Wait... We are using old stable 15 x earning to value a company whose revenue grew by 75% last quarter. 75%!!!!!

And here is the real kicker. Apple has $102/share in cash. They have more cash on hand than all but 52 of the total value of individual companies on the Stock Exchange. In other words, Aapl's cash is worth more than all but 52 individual companies in the US.
- OK add back cash to the $645/share and Aapl stock should be trading around $747/share using a 15 x earnins model
- Use a 20 x earnings model like Google (though Aapl's income and revenue is growing faster) and you get $962/share. {($43 x 20) + $102 cash}

The most amazing business sucess story in the US in a long time.

there are LOTS of stupid investors out there and there are lots of stocks that are trading at an unjustifiable premium right now...and, while apple appears to be an outlier, i'm still maintaining a healthy level of skepticism.

Awesome read Plank

You would need mad dough to even invest in a stock that trades that high. Cheapest stock for the richest guy may be a better way to put it.

I don't think 'cheapest' is the correct word with what he's trying to get at. It's UNDER VALUED. As to the other equities in the tech industry

And since the market's both rational AND efficient, you can guarentee instant riches by buying DEM BIG APPLE OOTM CALL OPTIONS!

:cow:

lolol @ using the internet to pump your share price so you can dump it...that's so 1990's.

With 929M shares outstanding, I believe we're safe from building any significant stock momentum based on Internet hype here at EF.

That is, of course, unless Jon gets word of it and dumps his Forex billions and buys into Apple. That would be a complete game changer.

Apple has a track record for what happens after Jobs; They are on the verge of bankruptcy and require an anti-trust settlement from their primary competitor with regulators to keep them alive (government bailout). Everyone needs Exxon Mobile nobody needs an iproduct.

And what exactly does that opinion have to do with your original statement:

Steve Jobs is dead...It isn't an opinion the company collapses without his leadership..we have history. Posting stock picks on the internet is a way day traders make their money on greed; Apple is a volatile stock but not something I would invest in long term...Exxon Mobile is a better buy.

Yeah, I still don't think YPMO's comment on a juicer board is going to have any material upward impact on the stock price.

How do you know he is only posting on this board? He's probably spamming e-mails and countless boards.

Nobody gives away valuable information for free.

Like my dad always said, "If it's too good to be true then it probably is..."

I suspect there is an Apple bubble like there was a tulip bubble...:)

That's it!

I bet YPMO is actually an executive from Apple trying to shill the stock! OMG it all makes sense now.

All his other posts here are just a smokescreen to hide his nefarious behavior. The tumblers have fallen into place.

So who should we call? The SEC? The Justice Department? Maybe we should notify the WSJ and FT just in case he tries to work his manipulative view into an op-ed piece.

Better yet, let's do an IP trace on him and call Seal Team Six. As an existential threat to the integrity of the US financial system, he represents a clear and present danger to our country. I'll give Holder a call this evening and see if we can get clearance to begin drone flybys of his residence within the hour.

And thanks again. It's vigilance like you've demonstrated here that makes America the bastion of freedom, integrity and hope that it is today. You sir, embody all that is great in the US.

First of all, executives have defined rules about how they dispose of stock, I said he was most likely a day trader. I could spam hundreds if not thousands of sites with "invest in this spam."

I'm just saying that anyone posting stock tips on the internet is shady and I was also dismissed when I posted about the housing bubble as early as 2004. I exited the tech bubble in the late 1990's with a nice profit before the crash. If you want to be part of the bubble then go ahead..I don't believe in protecting people from their own misallocation of resources...the market will correct.

You can't go wrong with big oil if you want sustainable returns...Apple is marketing. I don't own a single Apple product but most of my life is a required purchase from an oil company or oil related company...even Apple and every other tech company is oil dependent...

With such vision and financial prowess, why aren't you running Blackstone or Bridgewater? You should be operating at an 8-9 digit salary level -- and that's without the additional 8-9 digits in additional stock options.

Perhaps you should use your insight and deft unveiling of YPMO as a lead-in to offer those groups your resume.

I wonder if there are other companies that are heavy on marketing and make products even less substantial and necessary than Apple.

Hmmm...

McDonalds
Tiffany's
Coca Cola
Yum Brands
Royal Caribbean
Avon
Disney
NFL
NBA
MLB
MLS
NASCAR

Yeah, these guys will never catch on either. Flash in the pans if there ever were any.

Java still does not own any Apple products..
Please upgrade and then STFU regarding all the Apple hatred.
They haven't even come out with Steve's iPhone 5 yet!

But he's so sure he doesn't like them!

Why disrupt a perception based on little to no personal experience?

lol exactly. JG doesn't make any sense.

JG you do know that YPMO is billfred, right? You really think he's spamming all over the Internet? Lmao

Omg - Plunkey is pwnting JG so much, I don't even need to reply. Well done Plunkey sir.

It's a trick!

You're just trying to manipulate me into buying Apple stock by complimenting my posts. But I know better!!!!!!!

What if you are paying hundreds... dare I say THOUSANDS of people with compliments right now, all in a thinly veiled attempt to pump your stock up just so you can sell it?

That's it. I'm shorting apple stock first thing tomorrow morning.

I've used mac's, the computer lab in high school and the computer lab for my undergrad had them. Now, my high school has PC's and every college I've attended have PC's...My best friend from high school is a Mac fan boy and we were roommates when I was an undergrad; I heard all the propaganda. I've also used an ipad...not impressed but I'm a techie..I still write code in C++ on a Unix box with a Sun Microsystem compiler and in my spare time write code in LISP as an intellectual exercise but I will probably get around to using it in my thesis.

Apple does a great job with usability engineering, that's a specific class you can take in a CS program, but most engineers don't understand the concept intrinsically because they live in a techie ivory tower.

Just because I don't own something doesn't mean I haven't used it. I've programmed in COBOL on an AS/400 and I don't own one...

well hold the fuck up everyone!!! time to give out the "all-state" computer programming trophy!

No, because I don't follow the EF gossip circuit.

Even so, do you know what he does for a living? It's the internet, is he lying? When I was in law school, I took a class "Accounting for Lawyers." It was an introduction for upcoming attorneys going into business/corporate law. The premise was to give the upcoming attorney the basic tools to deal with accountants. We had an aged and experienced professor but his basic message was to look at the numbers and not the flash. Basically, don't trust anyone on the presentation; Maybe you can attest to his financial bona fides based on your interactions but I need to some evidence before I trust in anyones financial advice.

Actually, I was the co-president of the computer club in high school...That was a more worthwhile pursuit than athletics or the military; I was also in the ANG in high school.

Could you at least post something useful as opposed to your peanut gallery comments? I don't expect much from you intellectually but at least pretend to put some effort into your posts.

Wait.. aren't you are older than me, lol. I am 31, so how many years ago are you basing this on?

My profession is stock day trading. My business plan is to focus on large cap companies where I know I can move the stock by posting on places like fitness websites. Look for my write-up on XOM coming soon. Probably move to IBM and Microsoft after that. I will move the market.

I usually only clear about $60k on a good year but it does not matter because I live my life from the computer. Minimal footprint - 400 sq ft apartment. Kitchen, trophy room, internet hub/computer room and bedroom is all I need.

I don't even have a smart phone - that is for people with way overvalued self importance. I don't even use Windows because I can use my Cobalt training from college to write proprietary day trading software on an old IBM mainframe I found at a rummage sale. I'm a baller in my own world.

lmfao!

Approaching $600.

Samorh - you are going to owe a friend of mine 1 million K. You can give it to me and I will make sure he gets it.

My post on EF moved the stock. I am that good.

Nice juicer thread post...Day traders make their numbers intra day on volume and not gains and losses end of day...One of my my first gigs was writing day trader software; Buy your Apple stock and hold it for ten years..compare it to my S&P 500 mutual funds. I'll probably win...:)

The SEC has prosecuted people for pumping stocks on the internet; Not to say your post rises to an arbitrary standard established by the SEC but why should I care about what you think about Apple? After all, Apple fired Jobs. Apple probably has a good three years of marketing and project development before they reach the point where management has to make the decisions...we'll see how Apple tv does in the interim.

Seriously dude - I know you are not that stupid so I am chalking all this up to you are just a drunk.

Considering the wealth of incredible things you have done in the past, surely it's safe to assume you've amassed fortune upon fortune. You've got to be working just for fun and to maintain your link to the commoners.

We should all be thankful that you find us fit to reside with on this message board.
