this movie is for men who appreciate being men, did your grip get tighter on the seat when spears were penetrating persian stomachs? or when the thud of a spartan shield smashed against a persian skull? or when leonidus kicked that persian messenger down the hole? or spartan men in the phalanx formation killed row after row of persians while working as 1 cohesive unit between those two massive cliffs? or when the duty of being a spartan male presided over his own family?

thanks for that heart-warming conclusion that you drew of my opinion fucktard. yeah those parts that you mentioned were pretty cool, but overall i just wasnt feeling the story. i cant get into animated shit like people riding rhino's and goat people and quazi moto and 16 ft tall people, and 500 ft elephants charging 300 men with 2000 riders on thier back. i fucking laughed more than anything. the previews were misleading. but thanks for your opinion. sorry now if everyone feels like they have seen this movie now, but you will thank me for warning you.

one more point before i go take my 2 hour lunch, the movie is a tale being told by that one-eyed spartan guy...so naturally he's going to embellish some details
for example, he made the elephants sound larger (especially if spartans never saw elephants before)
he made the enemy out to look strange (don't forget anyone that wasn't a greek was considered barbaric)
it should all make sense man
if you never knew or saw a grizzly bear before
then come across one in the woods, you're going to describe it as a gigantic furry beast with barn sized paws to your friends
especially if your point is to make the story memorable for generations to come

they should make a movie about the Ottomans owning the Greeks for 600+ years
Well, first I am getting the 73 inch diamond Dlp from mitsubishi and a 120 inch dlp front projector for my home theater.
Second, the movie was excellent, I would like to see 300 Marines fight against 200,000 strong Army and take out a solid 1/5 in 3 days fighting hand to hand! BTW, being a Marine I don't say that lightly.
The fact that duty, honor, courage, etc came before family is the way it should be.
What should the movie have? 2 hours of talking, etc of events that cannot be verified. What is verifiable and was re-enacted was the Persians getting there asses squarely handed to them by 300 of the greatest warriors on the planet.
I liked the scene where Leonidas wife told the Persian emesary, that because she was a Queen, a Spartan Woman that, that gave her the right to speak and that only Spartan women give birth to real men! Now that was a line to savor.
Not too mention the fact that she shoved that sword into the gut of that pathetic traitor!
Awesome movie hands down.

A lot of people do not have an eye to appreciate the artistic beauty of this film.
Excellent fight scenes and a great story with excellent life meanings.
Sadly some people are too simplistic to see all that and so the movie sucks for him/her. That's okay though, everybody has his/her own taste and opinion.
