Yeah, a true indication of their condition is how visible their abs are in non ab type poses like standing relaxed and front lat spread. Even though it is hard to flex the abs when hitting the front lat, you should still be able to see all abs anyway. His just sort of disappears at times.
You probably could. I was bigger than he was. When he came over, he was asking me about training and cycling. I was like "Dude you are the pro, you should be telling me this shit."
But all knocks aside, he looks better in the offseason and the man is truly a hardworker. You don't see many pros training heavy and hard like he does. He isn't scared of sweating, that is for sure.
I have seen him train legs and do giant sets with leg extensions, hack squats and then finish with 15 rep free weight squats with 315.
I can't stand all the theatrical quarter turn shit where these dudes look like they're gettin position to have something thrown at them....just turn bitch...you're outta the money already and you knew it before you left home.
and another thing. If you have high lats or a back like Gary Strydom, don't hold your arms way out in the relaxed pose. Your lats totally disappear.

Hell yeah. That one black guy up there looked like his right foot was a seeing eye dog and leading him around. Like some judge is going to go "oh wait a minute.. that dude in 12th, wow that was a nice quarter turn, you know, I am going to move him up to 8th."
