* Earns pro card

A lot of people are talking politics on this one again. Many thought a superbly conditioned Dave Palumbo should have defeated a smooth Chris Cook. I personally think Mike Dragna should not have received his pro card. To me I don't even know if he deserved to win his weight class. Richard Jones, who many have never even heard about definitely came in and stole the show. He looked fantastic! Another personal opinion would have been the middleweight Jimmy Canyon getting the second pro card over Mike Dragna. Like recently, he was again on point! It's good to see a local guy moving on up the ladder and getting closer to that pro card! Congrats to all!

Dave Palumbo gets FUCKED again! They will NEVER give the guy his pro card! Dave Palumbo should have been a pro two years ago...

This is BS regarding DP!

chris cook is a really nice guy, he guest posed at a show i did, but man, he did look really smoooth compared to Pulumbo. However from the back he was so much wider than Palumbo.

My main thing was Dragna. I mean come on. He looked terrible in the pics. Unless he was superb in prejudging and just lost by the next evening. There's no way he should have gotten the second pro card though. Way to let Muscletech lend you a hand. Not that I would complain or anything!

I would've given the cards to Jones & Dim, although Jones looks a bit thin in the legs.

If Palumbo could reduce his 40" waist he'd get his pro card.

...but I don't think that's even possible. I'll give it to the guy though he was the most ripped person I saw there.

The top 3 light heavies looked better than the top hvy and super hvy.

It's well known that Muscletech involvement helps a lot in those circles.

Help me get ready for the Mr. Apartment 309 contest. It's just me versus the dog and he's lookin pretty lean compared to me.

how exactly are pro cards earned?

By winning your class at the Mr USA contest and then placing either 1st or 2nd overall.

Or by winning just your class at the Nationals and former North America's.

That means bantom weight winners become pro's at the Nationals. Which doesn't make any sense to me but whatever.

It used to be that you had to win overall at Nat'ls too, but I guess they needed more pros so they made it easier. This was a good thing up to a point.

I think it's stupid. No one will view a guy that weighs 130lbs as a "Pro Bodybuilder". But if you win the Bantom weight division then you become just that.

Nope, not this year. I will be there next year. I have to re-qualify at the Mr. Ohio in Sept. I am 230# at 3.8% so I think I will win the whole thing. It will be nice doing a more "local" show since at Natl's you are more just a number with no friends due to distance and expense.

Well, keep us updated for sure. If you're that close then you could jump to the Nationals afterward in Nov. I'd love to go to that as well but I'm planning for the O instead.
