20 rep squats

I wouldn't say consistently. I usually throw them in once a month or so...and spend the rest of the time regretting that decision..
 
leg press, won't do it with squats, but i can do 150 reps 30 sec rest 150 reps at 300 lbs... changed the whole shape of my leg..

That won't make them stronger/larger but when you go back to your normal routine straight/drop whatever you will get a lot stronger and your recovery will be much better
 
I have done this for fun and challenge. Me and gladiator did 225x30 and other various weights for 20 reps and stuff there for awhile. Really a mental mind game after you get halfway through it. After your done its amazing how exhausted you whole body is
 
If you're keeping great form i don't see a problem- but idk if I could maintain good form past 10 or so.
 
I personally prefer to use squats for generating power thoughout the body. 5 reps and lower with heavy singles being my favorite.

I remember doing them once waaaay back when and they are hard as fuck.

I'd rather go high reps on the leg press though. That shit isn't easy either.

Thats kind of the point of mental breakdown, you mentally have to remind yourself each rep because you start to breakdown, atleast for me. Thats the challenging part that I like about it. BTW you could do it

Ghetto- Leg Press is super hard, especially hi reps. I personally hate leg press
 
i did these last evening, sore is an understatement.
100kg x 20 has been a milestone i've been working towards for a while though, so im pretty happy.

yes, i noticed i bounce too hard at the bottom. force of habbit from compeditive oly lifting (yes, thats how we always did them)
that and a mixture of me trying to get it done as quick as possible.
if anybody has any videos i'd love to see them

You know you are doing them right if you see (insert deity of your choice) around rep 12.

Try to go for 100 reps with your BW on the bar. Now that is a challenge. I've gotten to 60 something. It didn't go well for me after that.

I've been doing front squats exclusively for a month or so now. I've been finishing with a strip set of 20-25 reps. Usually three strips until I'm finishing with 135. High rep front squats suck worse than high rep back squats imo. These fucking rape my core. Abs always sore the next day.

Put 100 on the bar and try it Tabata style! That cool feeling on the side of your face when you are done will be the floor.

lol. I do 20 rep lunges rather than squats. it really hammers your quads & evens out any strength imbalances imo.

Yes and once I did a set of 100 rep walking lunges!! Well 50 reps on each leg but 100 reps total :D

I didnt use much weight for either though. The 50 rep squats were with like 50% of my 3rm and the lunges were just with a 25lb weighted vest.

I did some 20 rep squats last week and Im thinking of doing them more regularly now...
 
A new thing I tried in my leg workout yesterday is leg press drop sets. Not just 1 or 2 but 10. I was using 900 lbs so there was ten 45's on each side. I did ten reps at 900 then, without locking out, had two friends each remove one plate on each side, then I went to failure. They removed another plate and I went to failure again. We continued this until it was just the sled. This is a close second to the 20 rep squats if done right.
 
I do em every once in a while to train my v02 max and up my cardiovascular conditioning.
225lbs x 20 or 245 x 20 will wreck you.
