1) Dude fuggin rocked back in the day. Stay with Me and Ain't Superstitious....c'mon now. great voice too. to bad he turned into a doucheknuckle

2) greatest line ever:
"So in the morning
Please don't say you love me
Cause you know I'll only kick you out the door

Yea I'll pay your cab fare home
You can even use my best colonge
Just don't be here in the morning when I wake up"

i'm a big fan of love touch, from the motion picture soundtrack to the 80s classic Legal Eagles, starring robert redford, debra winger, and darryl hannah.

also young hearts, hot legs, maggie, etc.

I LOVE YA HONEY

i put rod one step above micheal bolton on the faggotry ladder
i can almost gurantee you that perkele has rod stewart posters and concert tees

didn't they find some semen in Rod's stomach once?

What? Like in some random stomach content inspection? They were like, "Let's see what's in your stomach Rod."

"Ok, why?"

"Dunno."

"Sure."

Gallon of semen.

i once hit up a rod stewart concert with lestat and sawastea. no faggotry there, trust me.

it was pretty manly, in fact.

All the Rod blasphemers in this thread should be prepared to get hit with some red K.

wait, they haven't invented rainbow K yet, have they?

Two of the greatest rock albums of all time are "A Nod Is As Good As A Wink..." and "Every Picture Tells A Story". For one brief shining moment, Rod Stewart was god. Wonder what happened?

Have you lost your marbles?

lol this is from married with children

Al: "Jefferson, check out Ms. November in the 1988 copy of Big Uns"

Jefferson: "Turnons include: Young Rod Stewart, Turnoffs: Old Rod Stewart"

Before SRV (and his trailer trash mailbox letters), aspiring young blues guitarists would listen to BB King, Albert King, Freddie King, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, John Lee Hooker, etc... for inspiration. So we get a guy in a hat with mailbox letters on his guitar, and after him no one listens to anything but SRV and Hendrix.

There was nothing wrong with SRV, he was an okay player, he just was never deserving of the massive adulation that he received. So it's not his fault, really, it's the fans'. I just react against him because his material is all the same, and because he's hugely overrated. He never really changed or grew, just the same Albert + Jimi schtick over and over.

My 5 newest CDs include:

Buddy Guy & Junior Wells - Last Time Around - Live at Legends

Eric Johnson - Ah Via Musicom

Freddie King - Blues Guitar Hero (The Influential Early Sessions) [UK]

B.B. King & Friends - 80

Muddy Waters-The Essential Collection

Yeah, but he was not the icon people make him out to be either.

what a great year

smurfy was on to her 3rd husband by then.

db, even though it's been covered...SRV = ok player? whatevz. WHATEVZ.

as for the uniformity of his sound or lack of innovation, i wouldn't necessarily disagree. i don't have much experience at all when it comes to listening to the blues, and i don't really consider SRV blues as such, but rather blues-influenced. nor do i have the historical perspective of a fossil such as yourself.

all i know is that i love listening to his shit. i think he put a lot of soul into his playing and even singing. i respond to that, always. i suppose it's his early death that sealed the deal on his legendary status.

You're in my heart you're in my soul you'll be my friend as I grow old, you are my lover, you're my best friend, you're in my heart. You're essay and glamor please pardon the grammar, but you're every schoolboy's dream..... You're ageless, timeless, lace and fineness you're beauty and elegance, you're a rhapsody, a comedy, and adventure and a play, you're every lovesong ever written, but honey what do you see in me? I'm sure I flubbed some of the words here, but that's one of the greates all-time songs.

Who sings 'Hey Nineteen'?
