ok so ive joined an olympic lifting club (empire sports, bristol), and have 1st session 2morro, there are six platforms and 5 coaches so i will basically be getting one on one coaching. im basically a beginner and i was just wonedring what to expect from the session?

alot of reps with little weight...... my first session was with USA Weightlifting certification course..... we went through warm up.... flexibility stuff... like overhead squats..... etc..... then the lifts are broken down into progressions.... at the knee... below the knee... etc.... all with just the bar or a training plate...

depends on the coaching style and where you are physically.

either lots of basic strength work with intro to a few basic WL movements (behind neck shoulder press, push press that way, front squat, snatch/clean pull, drop sn, etc), or heavy into changing/modifying/strengthening your current technique, which is a ball buster.

he went for the latter, and i am completely shattered, thought i was gunna vomit at one stage, very enjoyable tho, hopefully conditioning will improve quickly.

Concentrated on clean technique and introduced the jerk nearer the end and then core work.

will be starting a journal next session, may post it on here if anyone would be interested!
