Before I can begin with my 10X10 program I need to establish where I am at.

Here was tonights workout for chest;

Bench Press
135-5
185-5
225-5
275-5
325-5
370-1
380-1
390-1

I cut it here. I only had weight up to 370. So I tied rubber hoses around my oly bar with standard plates attatched to add resistance. I haven't tested myself on flat since April 1st, 2003 as well.

The road to smashing my PR's is on. I see 405 within the month.
 
nice job hammer, you havent trained bench in a while and its still close to your best

Sounds like you will find something to work with as soon as you can establish a max.

I have a question, can you really use 60 to 70 percent of your max for 10 sets of 10? If so, that is truly impressive!! I would fatigue out by the 4th or 5th set. . lol. I guess everyone has a different composition of muscle fibers.

Today was a max but I had a little left in the tank. I could have hit 395 maybe 400 bc I became fatigued.

I will be working out with around 225 for 10 sets of 10 starting next week. I thrive on the volume.

Your bodytype seems to be suited for volume. I bet your physique explodes from this. . . you phucking hoss!!! Walkingbeast is teaching me well. . .:fro:

Ok I admit it. I usually do kiss the barbell before each and every lift. I have a loving relationship with my barbells.

Yes NWinters they were definitely plates dangling off. They were standards that wouldnt fit onto the oly bar so i used rubber hoses to use them.

Thanx for the generous comments everyone. I felt like it was time for me to get back into some old school techniques and raise my bar again. What was past was past and now it's time to grow. Thanx again warriors.

thanx brutha. things sure are diff't now that I don't have Bruce Webster barking down my throat not letting me train. Hoops was catabolic man. I miss the dungeon days of the hubble. Now Lord Suston is there to fulfill the legacy. You should team up with him sometime.

Exactly man.

Once my incline hits 400 I expect my flat to be around 450.

What techniques have you use over the years to get your bench strength to the point it is now?

Thanx brutha. 500 would rock the house.

I have used every technique imaginable. My favorite is volume and it works well for me.
