Please help me past this plateau.

First let me say congratulations on losing 60+ lbs. That's a really nice accomplishment. I think what you'll hear a lot from on this board is to incorporate some lifting. Weight training will build muscle mass, which increases metabolism, and therefore helps to lower body fat. Since it sounds...

Help me develop a bodybuilding routine.

Thanks for the info. I did back today (got pushed back a day due to schedule) and upped the reps and sets for each lift. Feeling good so far. Also, I agree that I probably need a little more protein. I eat a ton of fruit and oatmeal that I could probably dial down a little. For the main lifts...

Help me develop a bodybuilding routine.

Hello everyone. I'm sending out a warning right now that this will be a long post and if you're one of them that screams "cliff notes" at the end, you can stop reading now. This is going to be long because I want to be proactive and answer all of the basic questions right off the bat. Stats...

Feet fell asleep while running today!!

Look into compartment syndrome. Ask your doc about it and report back to what he says.

help this fat dude with a split, HIIT, arms day..

I guess my question is what are your goals? Are you just trying to lose fat, get bigger, get big arms to impress girls? Your diet is going to be the biggest impact on your weight goals. Overall I'd say your 3 day split is decent. I'd rotate the order each time. For instance Monday might be Heavy...

    Testoserone comparison

I hate to get into the middle of this but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing two educated and experienced people like Nelson and Ross have this discussion. For Nelson's sake, I'm sure he means 900 ng/dl. Knowing that Nelson is of, how do I say this nicely, middle age, I would say that 900 ng/dl...

how to get chest like these

I'd have to say that chest shape/nipple direction is 95% genetic and 5% mass building of your overall chest. I think most on here would agree with that statement.

Keep hurting my rear delt/upper back when trying to workout again

Sounds like it could be a Rotator Cuff injury and that will, for the most part, never heal without serious intervention.

can 2 sessions of cardio be more effective than 1?

Musketeer is correct. It has been scientifically proven that separate cardio workouts will burn more OVERALL calories than the same time done all at once. This is due to the body remaining at an elevated metabolism state for a period after the cardio is completed.

Blood work - results in, input welcome

I think Nelson is saying that the HCG could artificially inflate your test levels. However, I tend to think if your last dose was 7 weeks prior to your blood work then your numbers are fairly accurate. I'd say they look fine, especially if you're 40. Your PCT worked and they are right where they...

I have a question for you.

More info would be nice but I think you'd get enough bicep work from just doing deads 3 days a week. I haven't done a curl in years and I have pretty big bi's. Also, last thing you want is doing bi's on Tues and Thurs to affect your deads.

Deadlifts. First rep is the hardest.

I let the weight come to a stop. I think if I bounced that kind of weight at my gym they'd kick me out. I get strange enough looks just for using the bicep rack for my squats.

Deadlifts. First rep is the hardest.

Thanks for the replies. Good to know that others experience the same thing. Also on my 10x1 sets I was only taking a short.. 45 secondish break between sets. My CNS was probably still "hot" so that's why they were all easier than the first.

Deadlifts. First rep is the hardest.

I have been lifting for years but just started Deadlifting in March thanks to this board. They are progressing nicely, I recently did a set of 455x5. My question, and I wonder if anyone else has this problem, is that my first rep in a set is always by far the hardest. Is this normal? Even my...

    needsizes 5x5!anyone still do it?

I know many people don't do it and have moved on to the more advanced 5x5's but I still like Needsize's. I use it. Cant say i use it exclusively, but I've had some excellent results from it. It also makes lifting easier as you don't really have to do any math!
