Feet fell asleep while running today!!

I was booking on the treadmill as usual, except today my quads and abductor muscles were giving me trouble from PR breaking squat day. So instead of doing my usual HIIT training at 11-12 mph for 1 minute then walking 1 min, I decided to run steady at 8mph. Well my calves started getting real sore so I backed it down a lil bit. They still hurt so I backed it down to walking and that's when they really started hurting.

I had already stretched for the requisite 10 min, but I stretched the calves out for another ~4 mins and got back on. Started back up and about 3 mins through and I could feel my feet starting to fall asleep. I guess they finally did and man were my calves sore.

This was really scaring the shit out of me yesterday. I've heard these sorts of sensations can be bad signs of calcinatria or even liver disease.

Then I read it could be the result of hyperventillation, or TOO MUCH OXYGEN IN THE BLOOD. LOL Have you ever heard of such a crazy thing in your life? TOO MUCH OXYGEN are you kidding me?

Today I went back and tried to control my breathing more but with absolutely no success. 10 minutes and I was done. I felt real good otherwise, like I could run all night even though I'd just finished an intense workout. Pretty good for an occasional smoker...

Anyways, do you think this could just be the result of having itty bitty chicken calves or a sign of something else?

BTW I got a DOC appointement for physical and I'm gonna request every health related test and every test for possible diseases that I can find that cause paraethesia.

Possibly poor circulation? I'm not really sure bro i would tell your doctor to be honest i think they would have a much better idea then we would.

hyperventilating is used for diving sometimes i believe, if your ever holding your breath for long periods of time you want as much oxygen in the blood stream.. but as to ur feet falling asleep i got nothing :( doesnt sound like a fun. maybe next time start ur cardio slow then work up to hit

probably poor circulation and another probably can be your shoe's my shoe's are old and when i run sometimes my foot gets a little tingly

but go to the doc just to be sure

Thanks guys. I haven't been to the doc yet, but switching shoes, extremely lossening them, and carefully controlling my breathing allowed me to run for 3 miles today.

Endomd- a listed cause of compartment syndrome is creatine monohydrate! I'm going to stop the intake for some time and see if that helps.

I think I seriously forgot how to breathe. When springing I got in the habit of taking very very large deep breaths and perhaps applying the same strategy to running was partially causal.

Seems like compartment syndrome is easy to diagnose so I will keep you all posted.
