I became an entrepreneur because I hated having to rely on corporations and shit. No one would ever give me a chance at the kind of jobs I wanted because of BS connections/degrees. The day I started working for myself is the day I became liberated from this crap. I prefer to work with companies and not for companies, but in the right situation (money/ good hours and commute/traveling) I would be all for a job working for someone else. All the opportunities in my life come from things I have done and not what I was given. At the same time employers were fools not to spot me because I could have helped what they had going on.

Just got off the phone with my friend that works out there. The spot was given to one of the leads' relatives. Just keep plugging away I guess.

that actually happens a lot in the real world...it sucks...but, if you really are looking for a new job or (in my case) trying to pick up some new (bigger) clients, face time with people, talking about yourself and what you have to offer is never a bad thing.

I interviewed with four people. Three of them didn't want the relative. It was down to me and two others and one got a DUI and called in to disclose it to see if it was a problem. It was, and it was down to me and the other guy with my friend going to bat for me constantly. I have a feeling I'll get on there eventually but I am exploring other options.

Honestly man, the benefits, income, education reimbursement, and the fact that I'll have a position with DOD clearance are the reasons I want this so bad because of my daughter. A couple of things have happened with the ex that make me think I'll need to push for full custody. A job like this will make me look and be more stable in court. Like I told you before, what I really want doesn't matter anymore as long as pet human is ok.
