I would like to add the FYI, for roughly the first 140 years of this country's existence anyone was allowed to put as much of any drug they wanted into their body as long as they didn't directly harm another person; That includes cocaine and opium(heroin)....the country not only survived but moved from mere colony to became a great economic power.

Everything was also a lot more simple back then though too. People for the most part were "on the same page" so to speak. Now we'd be lucky if people were even in the same damn book.

And for the record, while JA was being a smartass, RG did seem to ignore the fact that his point was essentially brought up already by 75th and OMEGA in posts #5 & 10 respectively.

i'm friends with a ton of kids who go to humboldt state because there's a chapter of my fraternity there. so yea i've been to arcata and i also know growers there because my roommates used to buy en masse and sell to the clubs. so my ego says suck ittttt

Exactly how was it "more simple?" How do you define being "on the same page." We went through a civil war....that's about as "not on the same page" as I can imagine.

Yes, minorities were enslaved, abused and killed but it wasn't because of drugs....as a matter of fact racism was used as a reason to ban drugs at the beginning of the 20th century. Weed was being used by blacks to seduce white women....opium was associated with Chinese immigrants...etc..


There is one recorded high noon style shootout in the old west...much like today you shoot your enemy in the back was the norm and that was rare because social norms are self supporting. You are less prone to commit crimes and be more polite in general when everyone is armed; It's the same reason you don't go into a job interview and tell everyone to go fuck themselves...

we have medicinal marijuana here and you gotta be seriously fucked up to get a script. basically the complete opposite of california. if you told a dr here you had migraines and asked for pot he'd probably laugh at you.

lol... in Cali you go to a doctor, you pay them $80-100, they fill out the papers properly and viola, now you can go get cheap good quality weed!!! in less than 24 hours.. so I think its just stupid to keep it illegal...


Although my professor was a bit upset and said even if they pass its still against the federal law, which would mean the growers would be getting arrested and signing the tax sheet would be like confessing to the crime..

We're on the same page bor, I was illustrating how the olden days werent any different than now with all the violence/killing etc. And yet drugs were all legal and the world didnt end.
