Sarah Palin

New member
I still don't like her "folksey" style and while I live a generally conservative lifestyle, I don't like anyone telling me it's what I should be doing.

But having said that, she's getting better and better with her delivery.

She went so far out to the right with her rhetoric, it'll be interesting to see if she can now convince people she's closer to the center and become a real political contender.

That wold be cool if a single thing she had to say was actually worth listening to.

Shes too much of a media whore/caricature to be politically viable anytime soon

which proves she is still as dumb as a stump but become a better actor and knows her lines a little better.

Worst thing that can happen for the Republicans. No way she can win a general election.

i think she's dumber than a box of rocks...

yes, this was the reason that swayed me NOT to vote GOP in the last Presidential election.

given johnnymac's age and past medical issues, this fool (palin) could had become President.... :worried:

if mccain had chosen a more viable vice president candidate the elction may have had been different.

if mccain had chosen a more viable vice president candidate the elction may have had been different.

mccain looked at the bucket of shit that he was going to "win" if he got elected...then he picked a running mate that ensured his defeat...i'm not kidding...i believe this to be true.

obama wishes he would have picked that crazy-ass preacher for his running mate.

perhaps so! i've always thought of him as a smarter, more intelligent man than he appeared to be towards the end of the Presidential campaign, picking that ...person...as his running mate just might prove it!

With the economy in the shitter in 2008, the Republicans were all but sure to lose the White House. McCain threw several hail-marry passes in an attempt to turn things around. Some of them worked...Sarah Palin didn't.

She'll get my vote if she runs. All joking aside, she knows how to do business, and she is not worried about her image (unlike Saint Obama, Clinton, or other presidents more concerned with how well-liked they are on a personal level). If she runs, she better not get coerced into dressing up like a law office receptionist. Jeans and T-shirt will do fine. She is moderate on social issues (abortion, gay marriage, etc), and is hardline on fiscal issues. There won't be any free lunch for lazy bums, and there won't be any strangling taxes put on "rich people and evil corporations" (aka small & medium business owners who can't afford to hire anybody under Obama).

If she runs, she should somehow browbeat Colin Powell into running with her. That would be a pair that NOBODY will mess with.

Charles

i'm a lib-leaning republican...and i think she's dumber than sheep-shit.

i just didn't want anyone to think that i'd softened my position on my right to double-tap their mangy ass if i catch them tryin' to abscond with any of my shit...

I thought that was just Defalcation rob
Expense it out for tax purposes hahaha

Aside from her socially conservative views (which I don't buy into either), what other position of hers does anyone here object to?

Aside from her socially conservative views (which I don't buy into either), what other position of hers does anyone here object to?

The fact that she seems content being retarded, for one.

Retards dont make good leaders. Forrest Gump was an anomaly.

But since I know youll ask, here some some of the issues I object to:

- she opposed a womans right to choose, even in the case of rape or incest.
- supported Bush's bailout
- opposes gay marriage
- believes in evolution
- opposes sex education unless it supports abstinence only
- started the whole retarded "death panel" meme

Just to name a few. Plus, shes a moron.

I have a problem with anyone who encourages the wholesale slaughter of wolves and she does not have a moderate view on abortion, she is anti-abortion her opinion is even if her own daughter were raped, a resultant pregnancy would not be terminated. Her only exception for abortion is if the mother’s life would end. She does not believe same sex couples deserve equal rights. Oh, and she opposes explicit sex education.

I can't stand that ignorant cow. But all politicians are shit, anyway.

i just think she's a dumbshit. :whatever:

when that dipshit katy couric cornered her about what newspapers she reads everyday, she wasn't smart enough to say "i'm too fucking busy to sit around reading gawddamn newspapers, katy...i have a real fucking job...i pay people to read newspapers for me and to let me know wtf is going on"...i mean, for chrissakes...just tell the truth...and when someone corners you, let the hair stand up on your back and put them in their place.

Or just, you know, say the Wall St Journal or something.

Reminds me of the lol moment where Christine O'Donnell couldnt name a single Dem senator. And when she didnt know the first amendment.

i like her too, but please don't run for pres!
not electable at all, and she wouldn't get my vote (just doesn't seem
smart enough for the job, i peg her intelligence slightly above obama and
that's just not gonna cut it)

Saying "The Wall Street Journal" only gets you deeper into the trap. The natural follow-up question is: "Who is your favorite writer?". Then if you can't answer it, you can say: "So you claim to read this paper every day as your primary newspaper and don't have a favorite writer?". And if you do name a writer, they just get more specific from there.

Never let someone lead you down a line of questioning with increasing specificity unless you have all the answers in-hand.

I think most Dems are hoping that she runs and gets the nomination.

At least it would provide plenty of entertainment.

b0und (why not)

lol at dems trying to act cocky and hope for that.
they need to be careful what they wish for, there
could be a sweeping pwning if their arrogance keeps up.
and that's what fuels sarah palin supporters, who are
blue-collar sorts and they feel all the hate is thinly vieled
classcism...and i have to agree, her more severe detractors
use all the "okay" racist words when talking shit about her (whitetrash, redneck, country bumkin, etc).
piss on the working folks long enough and your head get's severed, as we are witnessing with the congressional midterms tomorrow.

The dumb twat is like a silent dog whistle for idiots.

Anyone supporting this fool is only exhibiting a greater degree of stupidity than even she possesses. Which is a great deal.

If you strike her down she will only become more powerful than you can possibly imagine

olo

IQ test wise i'd rate palin slightly above obama.
neither will get my vote

Barry and Palin are a great contrast.

Barry's infinitely more smooth and buttoned-down than Palin, but has all the wrong answers. Palin is wrong-headed on social issues, but gets high marks on political and fiscal issues.

I'm still waiting for super-genius Barry to spend $5T on a new federal agency aimed at reducing the size of government.

Not to be an asshole, but I think every intelligent person on here needs you to expand on this statement.

Youre joking, right?

seriously??? ok...so a friend/client of mine attended an international lumber convention in vancouver b.c. a couple weeks ago and she was one of the speakers...and she's up in front of all these millionaire/billionaire lumber tycoons and she kept referring to them as "you lumberjacks"...first off, the proper terminology is "loggers" and sencondly, most of these muh-fuggers couldn't even figure out how to fire up a fucking chainsaw, let alone fell a tree with one, and she's calling them "you lumberjacks"...now, i realize that's part of her folksy, "aw-shucks" persona, but she said it like a hundred times...most of the dudes weren't real impressed, to say the least...part of "intelligence" is being able to read and understand your audience, so that you can communicate with them effectively...and, she ain't got it, imho.

Not to be an asshole, but I think every intelligent person on here needs you to expand on this statement.

Youre joking, right?

I'll name a few of her publically-stated positions:

- She is anti-bailout
- She is for social security reform
- She is against Fannie/Freddie (wants them shut down)
- She is pro-nuclear as well as pro-drilling (i.e. "all of the above")
- She is pro-border security (not a blanket amnesty person)

I'll concede her social conservative issues rub me the wrong way. But economically and fiscally, what specific position does she hold that people find so offensive?

I've said on numerous occasions that I don't like the folksy stuff either. I like my politicians with several coats of paint.

But c'mon now... "loggers" versus "lumberjacks"? Most of the people on this board wouldn't be able to differentiate those terms. And just FYI, Mirriam-Webster considers "lumberjack" a synonym for "logger".

:)

the point i was trying to make is that this audience wasn't a bunch of loggers or lumberjacks or what-ever-the-fuck you wanna call them...these guys (and they were ALL guys) were lumber millionaires/billionaires, most of whom don't know shit about the actual act of "logging" and, she was talking to them like they were a bunch of wood-hicks...these are guys that sit in hand-sewn leather chairs in fine wood and fine italian marble offices...they aren't "lumberjacks" or "loggers"...they're high-powered businessmen that "commute" in lears and gulfstreams.

I'm conservative...I absolutely cannot stand Sarah Palin...shes a money hungry b*tch...have you seen how much she charges to speak...quit her job as Governor to go make money giving speeches.

you're wasting your time trying to use logic and common sense on mr.teabagger, digimon. he's never seen a republican that he didn't support 100%, no matter what the idiot says/does.

meh...i'm a republican...but i don't just walk in and pull the "R" handle...i voted for a dem for governor today.

Bunch of horseshit. Palin can't open her mouth without a trainwreck tumbling out. If Obama has all the wrong answers, well Palins got NO answers at all. Unless they are decoded from insipid little sports scenarios.

She was also Pro-Amnesty before she typical flip flop, and how can someone be against the bail out when they are constantly grubbing for money for a bridge to nowhere.

Again, the only people dumber than Palin are her supporters.

Kind of find it strange that the Alaska Miller she is endorsing won't even turn around and endorse her when asked if she is qualified for office.

It was an amusing read to hear about the little hissy fit she and Todd threw over that.

Not to mention the majority of her OWN party do think she is qualified. But hey.... Obama endorses Palin for 2012-2013.5

I would like to bone Sarah Palin in the ass... ( just wanted to get that off my chest ) please continue the debate .

So perhaps she should have said: "Hey all you rich guys!" ?

And yet, if someone put Palin's economic and political positions in bullet point form in front of most people on this board, they'd agree with at least some of them.

The messenger is definitely not my preference. And I'll agree that she may be getting her positions spoon-fed to her by others. But look at the bullets I posted earlier regarding her publicly-stated positions. Which ones do you personally disagree with?

Would you rather have an investment broker who simply regurgitated other people's advice but it was good advice, or a brilliant investment broker full of wrong-minded positions?

...The messenger is definitely not my preference. And I'll agree that she may be getting her positions spoon-fed to her by others...

just like chenny did with dubja for 8 years? yeh, we all know how well THAT Political Plan worked out...

i've alays wondered how chenny's got his hand/arm that far up dubja's azz to make him speak....that might explain that grimace on the VP's face...

So perhaps she should have said: "Hey all you rich guys!" ?

i don't know what she should have said...but, if you gave me 5 minutes, i'll bet i could come up with something...and i ain't no genius, ya dig?? i know this much, though...that was a room full of serious, old-school, capitalists...captains of industry...the kind of people that make big campaign contributions...and they weren't exactly moved.

See? We're disconnecting the message from the messenger again.

Their alternative is a party that is in environmentalist's back pocket. You don't have to be moved by Palin when the alternative side wants to squeeze you out of existance.

meh...those boys ain't goin' anywhere...most of them are diversified into oil and gas and public utilities and trucking, etc...they'll plant a tree with one hand and club a baby seal to death with the other.

So I guess they don't want to trade carbon credits. They'll support "Drill Baby, Drill!".

So I guess they don't want to trade carbon credits. They'll support "Drill Baby, Drill!".

whatever makes money, baby!!! that's why i made the whole "planting trees with one hand, clubbing baby seals with the other"...if green is profitable, by GOD, they'll turn green quicker than obama goes back on his campaign promises...because, at the end of the day, they LOVE green stuff!

And therein lies the shear genius of capitalism. People try to re-think it far too often these days.

Means nothing. You can put Reagan's, Obama's, and Kermit the Frog's economic and political positions in bullet point form and most people will agree with at least some of them.

Political "positions" mean dick, its what your record of action actually says you do that makes the difference.
I can take a position of ending the wars tomorrow, lowering unemployment to 4% in 6 months, and securing the borders in 3 months but none of that matter because its my actions, not rhetoric, that determine who I am. Just as Barry is finding out.

he was the first one to say it's not easy being green...definitely a man ahead of his time...but, alas, he surrounded himself with puppets and his girlfriend is a loudmouth, fucking pig. :lmao:

I completely agree with that statement and Barry is a great case study:

He had positions yet didn't deliver on closing Gitmo, reduced domestic surveillance, eliminating rendition, nationalizing health insurance, allowing gays in the military, amnesty for illegals, and cap and trade. He didn't deliver on those and it de-energized his base.

But he did deliver on a takeover of healthcare, restrictions for wall street, $3B in deficit spending in only two years, and expansion of union influence.

Is it what he promised or what he actually delivered that has gotten him into trouble?

hahah teabag haters, looks like you are getting teabagged at the polls.
i'm def not a teabagger but i love how the rile up the libs, makes me
a supporter by default.
hope and change is riding in the back of the bus now

I love how Obama/Pelosi are getting bitch-slapped tonight. NO YOU CAN'T!!!

nancy will still be in the house unless she decides to retire.
the woman honestly does it a bad rap, she has to act extreme lib to get elected but really she is more of a moderate.
she proly is a good lady, fuggin retire and enjoy your wealth who would want that sorta abuse? it would eat me up.

Hopefully the new guys can freeze-up the house. It's not enough to repeal Obamacare, but they can at least stop any more nonsense.

As Obamacare hits, we can shed another 1M-2M US jobs and see where we stand from there. It's certainly no cure, but at for now we can stop the cancer from spreading.

Been watching Sarah Palin's Alaska.

She seems like a genuine good bro.

I understand much of what we see is staged, butt her family dynamics seem genuine, and the nurturing interactions with her youngin's and special needs child is touching.

Her values and independence are refreshing for a bangable woman of her age.

No comment on how her endearing qualities may or may knot qualify her as POTUS.

just sayin'

She's a better conservative lightening rod than she'd be a president. I like my politicians with a little more polish.

Shes too far gone as a media whore, too polarizing, viewed as quitter and sellout, etc. not a viable POTUS candidate.

do you think she'd be a better fit in a particular cabinet position?

I want to see her become the secretary of health and human services.

Then she can take that truckload of government power that's packed into Obamacare and remind us once again why the government has no business in health care.

Top Bottom
