Ever notice the similarities? Maria offers required protection on your dime and if you refuse you get your knees broke. They also offer you all kinds of deals on your dime that you don't need or want but are forced to pay for.

US govt does same thing. And it makes us pay but calls it taxes (really extortion) and if you refuse to pay they put you in prison, take your home and your paycheck. Obama care is just one of thousands of examples of the Maria, oops, I mean US govt has required us to buy regardless of whether or not we want it or can afford it. And i you don't buy it, you get fines levied against you.

Can we see how the govt is no diferent than the maria/mob? I see none.

that'll happen when we got 'american refugees', no one wants to come here and americans are moving to other countries.

That hasn't happened yet and unlikely to happen during our lifetimes (but it will happen one day). So all is good 4 now - just sucks for many who keep falling for scams like spend, spend, spend. To prove how great this country is, move to another country and live like an american.

I agree that gov't brings stability, and I have no problem donating some of my money to that end. But whe that govt feels that our hard earned money is theirs and that it is their duty to penalize those of us who bust our ass to succeed so that the lazy can continue to be lazy living off my moneyand those in govt continue to give themselves pay raises, pension plans extroidinaire, etc and would tell us we need them to run our lives because we are too stupid to do so (I have actually heard reps and senators say this) alon with their greed knowing no bounds, that I have a problem with. We need fresh blood up on capital that belongs to no party but support the Constitution and the pri.cipals that our country was founded on. In our life time we will see a fundamental shift o ideology back to what once made our country great and strong. It will be a wakeup call to those in power who would usurp our freedoms to bolster their station in life.

I wish you were right, but I doubt it. That's a shift that may very well occur, but I doubt it will in our lifetime.

There will be no type of fundamental shift until the U.S. epically fails. I'm not talking about the way we all complain because the gov't steals 25% of our income (which by the way, will never stop. Governments will always take money from their citizens). I'm talking about serious failure. Not this nonsense now about this recession. People are acting like our country is poor. We aren't poor, we're just not as rich as we were a while back. The majority of countries out there are poorer than we are. That's not to say that if something doesn't change, we wouldn't possibly be headed in that direction, but we're not there right now.

Anyways, my point is, things are not seriously wrong enough right now to inspire the entire country to involve themselves in fundamental change. That's a huge thing and would require us to first fail on a monumental scale. So I wouldn't get your hopes up for some huge fundamental change to occur in a couple years or anything.
