Actually, that's a pretty good idea. Hair doesn't need to be washed with a shampoo(detergent) every day, nor every other day. In fact, I've heard recommendations that once every three days is sufficient...and with conditioner. Apparently there is enough of an active in a cheap conditioner that all you really need to do is an initial rinse with something acidic, like good old vinegar, then a couple spoonfuls of conditioner massaged through, and rinse again. The biggest obstacle is getting past the 'no bubbles' aspect of conditioner only washing. See how easy it is for me to rationalize my grossness.
