SHAMROCK SUSPENDED FOR A YEAR AFTER TESTING POSITIVE FOR STEROIDS
- The fight between Ken Shamrock and Bobby Lashley looks like it will not
happen as former UFC champ and WWE Intercontinental champion Ken Shamrock
was suspended for one year and fined $2,500 by the California State Athletic
Commission for testing positive after his fight against Ross Clifton last
month. 'The World's Most Dangerous Man' tested positive for a cocktail of
Stanozolol, Norandrosterone, Noretiocholanolone steroids according to the
Los Angeles Times. Shamrock won the fight against his big opponent and it
was his first win in a couple of years. We had Shamrock on Ringside Live a
few weeks before the actual fight and when asked what's his plan going in
against a much larger opponent, Shamrock said that the plan is "to avoid
getting hit!" I guess he forgot to mention the steroids part.

Ken is like 45yrs and still fighting... wow.

that is impressive, i got to say. but you got to admit, to train, recover, and fight at that age is damn near impossible without steroids. im by no means saying that steroids win fights for him, he a very skilled man.
but once again we have a fighter found using winny, what is the deal with this? when i tried winny i could barely job down the road, let alone grapple, kcikbox etc.

What do you mean? They helped Rocky win!

Ya and like all of them are not on steroids. Fuck this is why I hate the fact that this sport was main streamed like it has been. It used to be a real blood sport and at the time never tested for steroids like a bunch of pussies.

Bring back hank the tank. I remember one of shamrocks first fights was against this beast of a man. Now that is a real fight. This sport is turning for the worst. More gay rules, all this stop the fight bull crap and testing for steroids.

I agree 100%. I think in their attempt at going mainstream they are completely screwing it up. More rules, more testing ( but only on certain people ). Its bullshit. I'm sure Ken did take steroids but who cares, Have you seen the guy he was going to fight? 6'1'' 260 and looks like an off season pro bodybuilder. Yeah, I'm sure he is all natural.

did you hear about the whole bj penn st pierre thing? I thought that was interesting... looks like claims of GSP cheating in order to win... you're right needto this sport is definitely turning for the worst. mma.fanhouse.com/2009/02/18/ufc-94-fallout-b-j-penn-documents-cheating-by-georges-st-pi/

I dont know if I agree with this. though my knowledge of the sport at its infancy is slight to say the least (I do watch it religiously now), if I remember correctly they simply put to men in the cage and let them go at it - no rounds, no clock.
and from the fights that I have seen that used this format, after 7-8 minutes, the two were so tired, they just eneded up on the matt hugging eachother, rolling around. boring.
by implementing rounds (giving them that much needed 1 minute break) and limiting the fights to 3 / 5 minute rounds, along with giving the ref the option of standing them up etc. these all aid in keeping the fight moving and thus - in my opinion - more entertaining.

further, I would say the fighters are much better conditioned all around today then ten years ago. When you have a guy like Tank Abbot winning fights (holding a belt? is that correct?) something is wrong.

do you really think he could hold his own with the top heavy weights of todays UFC?
