US Army Recruiters - Undercover

Interesting video. No idea why they don't just tell it like it is. British Army recruiters stopped sugar coating it years ago from all the correspondence I've had with other guys signing up. Both ARCs I went to last year was told virtually any regiment / corps I enlist in I would be in Iraq or Afghanistan at least once in a 3-4 year minimum signing engagement, that virtually all corps had experienced casualties / fatalities to mortar fire, RPGs, IEDs etc not just teeth arms, but they pitched it as a very active career (you'll see more action in 3-4 years than a lot of career soldiers did in their 22 years prior to 2003 etc., don't you want challenging tours? The chance to do what you're trained to do? etc)

BA isn't experiencing recruiting problems though, it's retention for us (poor wages, equipment, benefits, tedium of battalion life when not on ops etc).

I hate recruiters. They say ANYTHING to get in numbers.

And when you get to basic/boot camp - the favorite saying overhead is:

"They let anyone in nowadays".

Thugs, fatties, people with mental disorders, momma's boys, people asking everyday how not to go to iraq, gays, drama chicks, total idiots who can't even spell, people who can barely speak english. I spent 9 weeks waiting to get to white phase and get the hell outta there.

yes they are fuckin annoyin .. gave 1 my number as a late teen and dude harassed me more then a fat stalker chick

Same here, one recruiter would call 3-4 times a week, told me he would take me to lunch. Trying to be super nice to sell me into participating in a war. Promised 10,000 grand if I joined too; the stipulation was it would be received after my service. The major intention that I saw here, was that they wanted me over there and hopefully I would reduce some numbers of the population and then get killed so they wouldn't have to fork over the money they promised.

No, but Uncle Sam cares about you

i thought everyone knows they will say anything to get fresh blood

Herin lies the problem.

Impressionable 17/18 y/o's who aren't that smart in life (hey they're young, they have an excuse).

Soccer mom and dad's that want to brag to the rest of the joneses on how "our son is serving! Pass the coleslaw!". Then one day they get the news of him not coming home. Hope it was worth the 'proud of our son part'.

My DS was funny : "If you believed your recruiter and think you won't ever be going to Iraq ... YOU ARE WRONG!". Day One.

what's worse, the army recruiting, or telling people that they can live forever, if they just donate 10% of their salary?
