from what i read he was expecting a 17-55 not 21-55 so the story may still have a twist again yet

Thats unreal, I think I remember reading that the both of them were hooked on meth and cocaine as well. The addiction to meth would explain the irrational behavior.
 
My good friend was married to a fitness model and I hung out with Kelly a few times back in the mid 90's. She was very nice and we always had a good time. I couldn't believe when I heard about this when it happened a couple of years ago. Then I saw pictures of her and she doesn't even look like the same girl. Such a shame, but this is what happens when you go down the wrong path.
 
The wrong path more like no path at all! When I first heard about this mess I right away figured " Now everyone's going to think just because we lift we are all psycho killers and roids have taken away our humanity ". And to think I used to follow this guy's climb to the top, Oh well like the doc said "that's a wrap"!!!!
 
Could someone please explain to a non-American what it means to be sentenced to 21 to 55 years. That's a huge range!

I think (and sure someone will correct) its similar to a UK life sentence where a minimum recommendations is set before you can apply for parole. e.g. in Uk if you get life with a minimum of 21 years its post 21 years served you can apply for parole (no guarantee of acceptance).

I have found a few websites that discuss the evidence one is a free titus one but obviously very one sided. It does seem the evidence was outstanding against them so the sentance reflects that. That is not my opinion post research just a quick read has anyone else researched properly was it the right sentance?

I wouldn't doubt it because he use to buy X from me when I messed with it in 1999-2000 and I always thought he was an asshole.
 
last time he went to jail he chose to serve the full sentence rather than take probation, which meant he wouldn't have to be drug-tested and therefore could start competing right away. I'm guessing he won't do that again.

Like four years is going to make a huge amount of difference.

I can see why it is such a long sentence for Titus, they tried to cover it up, and lied, lied, lied and then ran.
 
Does this include his attempt to hire a hitman to whack a witness or is that another pending case?

He was a prick before he met Kelly and still a fucking prick now.

What he did seems dispicable, but I bet he'd be a model prisoner... Many of the prisoners are total shithead losers that should be shot to benefit society and stop wasting tax payer's money.
 
Dude should get the death penalty. Why are we wasting our tax dollars on a murderer? I was a fan of his but killing someone is an unforgivable offense. Should be eye for an eye for murder. What a waste of human skin.
 
People seem to forget that the victim wasn't innocent. She was a drug addicted whore and thief, not some asset to society...
Not sayin' that gives Titus a right to kill her. I'm sayin' that justifies some leniency in the sentencing in my mind.
Kind of like when a crypt kills a blood, it's not as bad as when a crypt kills a child waiting at a bus stop.

So we should change our laws - and before charging you with murder - try to find someone who thinks the victim is a piece of shit. Awesome - I bet 99% of murderers in prison can get out!

I guess you didn't know the 3 people involved. The 2 going to prison at some point in their lives paid income taxes...

No I don't think we should let convicted killers out of prison early.
But who really cared when Green River Gary killed 55 prostitutes. Had he killed even 5 "worthy" citizens he'd have been caught in a couple of months, instead of a couple of decades.
That's the way it is.
Hell, the only reason the Feds keep going after Gotti hard is because he hasn't been paying his fair share of taxes. You really think the Feds care that he offed some guinea's 20 years ago?

Reading comprehension is a short coming of yours.
Did I say she deserved to be murdered? No, I said leniency in sentencing Titus (and Ryan) was justified due to the not so innocent victim being a drug addicted whore and thief. BTW - She stole from Titus and Ryan. Maybe you like whores that steal from you?
I don't believe in "honor killings", but if James was a relative of mine I'd be ashamed to admit it.

No smartass I don't like "whores" stealing from me and it wouldn't happen but there is alot more to this case than that. They were having threesomes and all kinds of stuff but it doesn't make it any better or that they should have leniency on Titus for killing her. I saw her parents being interviewed and they didn't deserve to lose their daughter to a crime like that! As for reading comprehension being a shortcoming of mine, I don't think so it's obvious from you're statements that you feel somewhat like she is less of a person than you and didn't mean anything to society!

Actually I feel all 3 are beneath me. As you seem to think Titus is beneath you - and I don't disagree with you're view point. He's a punk and is going to do some hard time.
I think 17 - 21 years sentence (as Titus agreed to) is plenty...

I agree that a gang member killing an innocent child is worse than him killing another gang member but I believe this case is alittle different and she doesn't deserve to be put in that class or group.

OK. You expressed your view point, and I expressed my unpopular one :)
Try to remember though, that the DA wouldn't have offered a plea bargain with all the physical evidence they have, if there wasn't mitigating circumstances. Sometimes it's to spare the victim's family the grief (and embarrassment)of knowing the whole truth. Other times it's because the victim wasn't innocent...

I love it! This is the exact same reasoning islamic governments use as excuses to kill women adulters. They're animals, scourge on society, they ASKED for it.

I'm against capital punishment anywhere, for any reason. I believe it demeans us all as a society.
Since I'm already drifting off topic; Razor has a (1) good point. It takes effort on my part to empathize with others not in my little social group. That's human nature that needs correcting...

If you have ever been in prison then 4 years makes a HUGE difference.

Not saying its right or wrong but can see if you made a deal and then came out with an additional 4 years it is a big deal if your the one doing the time.

As you say from what i read then 21 years is more appropriate

The offense is very old news but he was only sentanced on Friday 22nd August and this is about how much time he got as he is now in the eyes of the law guilty. Previous to Friday he was innocent until proved

that 4 years makes 0 difference, not when its to 55 years.. He will not even do close to that bottom number they may even make him max out..

Does the sentance (21-55) mean that parole can be applied for after 21 years? In the UK that would be the case and if granted would mean the prisoner would be ''out'' but on license until 55 years has passed i.e. if a further crime was comitted (does not have to be the same) then the license is revoked and the prisoner returnes to jail to serve remaining until 55 years has passed from day of sentance.

Chances of getting parole on first attempt are approx 0 in the UK not sure if above is true in USA?

gotti was charged with multiple homicides, fixing a state case via bribing a juror, RICO charges, and a host of other crimes.
a lot more than just wacking some random dudes two decades before...

No they weren't random dudes. They were mobsters, one was the Don of the Gambino crime family.
It's my belief that the Feds don't care that Gotti killed other mobsters, but do care about all the financial violations involved in organized crime.

Agreed he has no hope of parole first time round and probably why considering action as 4 years added to his first application date in which time he could have had at least 2 more attempts.

IMHO he is looking at a certain 30 years if he is lucky and good as he has admitted his crime now which is a start in the eyes of the parole board anyway

Kills a young women then burns her body up in a car to try and cover it up. He should never get out!! Somethings wrong with the system if he can. He should take his last dieing gasp behind bars.

I agree it should have been a straight 55 years end of but i suspect it will be more like 30.

That is based on the little knowledge of his crime and that he pleaded guilty so with that in mind its a straight 55 years IMHO if there is mitigating evidence then assume it was used in court
