Sauna - anyone have one?

I grew up in Northern MI. A lot of Finns up there. Saunas of all shapes and sizes - indoor and out. Room for two is all you need - and a snowbank to jump in!

Most of those home ones are electric now. not the good ole coal ones. Don't know how much they cost to run them but I have a feeling it aint cheap

It'd be sweet having so much money I could afford to put a sauna in my house. I'd never use it but it'd be cool. You know what else would be cool? Having enough money to afford a house.

yeah i have one. the decision to get it and what style was influenced by the developer who built this awesome place. i have nfi what sort it is, but its electronic, beeps at me, has heat lamps as well as steam that comes from little holes in the bottom that i havnt tracked down yet, but i dont really care coz i half fall asleep when im in there

some bastard was drinking beer in there last week, s property management has made it so you cant go in there after 10:30, which is bullshit

I had one..... until I got all grow'd up and moved out of my parents' house. Well, so I guess that means I have never owned one but had one available to me while growing up.
I have a lot of memories of it. After school, when my dad got home from work, we would sit in the sauna and read. If the book was good, we had to go out and re-buy it because the sauna is hard on books. We bought paper back(cheaper) and just tore out the pages as we went along. The heat melted the glue. It made the pages fall out. We never used a bookmark because we just tore out the pages.
I guess he forgot to have me read the book about paramedics not being able to afford saunas. Darn it.

I know :worried:
I feel really bad. But they kinda fell out, anywayz. I guess it was our way of feeling in control of the situation. We could have cried over the pages falling out of the books because the glue melted..... or we could just rip them out and feel like it was up to us. It's taking control of a bad situation.
