How Long Is Your Daily Commute?

Generally speaking I've made a conscious effort to edit my posts for length. And in cases where I simply can't (personally, ethically, artistically or just because I need to be long winded for the intended reader) I usually put both a disclaimer and Cliff Notes at the top.

I'm probably wordy because I'm a reader. I usually grind through several novels simultaneously. I actually had to get an app to speed up the rate audiobooks play back because it's so slow I can't keep track (or fall asleep).

My husband, OTOH, was quite proud of the fact that he finished five chapters of a book yesterday. It's the first book he's chosen to read in decades. Not that he can't read, mind you, the man is very bright, but reading (other than technical manuals) bores him to tears.

I haven't read fiction since high school

Good storytelling is an art and all art is as much a part of human evolution as technological advancements. Maybe more so, in a way. Technology becomes outmoded and is forgotten but people are still reading Beowulf and admiring the creative talents of our ancestors :whatever:

The Turner Diaries is the only book anyone needs to read.
I have a similar philosophy but I have two books: The Kama Sutra and the Tao Te Ching, but hey, to each his own :whatever:

You didn't see the movie? The 2007 CGI version was alright.

I'm paraphrasing from Wikipedia: Beowulf is the oldest surviving epic poem of Old English, commonly cited as one of the most important works of Anglo-Saxon literature, also arguably the earliest vernacular English literature.
