NRA releases shooting app game.

ok dude take a xannie we're talking about criminal history and/or serious mental health disorders. Say, those teachers that will be packing in your kids school....would you be cool with them being on serious anti depressants? You know the kind of meds that have a 2% chance of making the person flip out and harm themselves or others...? Does that sound like good times?

Background checks on private gun sales are an outstanding idea.

I'm guessing it will take a few days after the rule is enacted for private industry to figure-out how to screen potential (and current) employees for mental health issues using that feature. That will be a real cost-saver, because then they can avoid employing people who will run-up their health care bills. Then we can dump those guys into a high-risk pool and let taxpayers pay for them.

Oh, and if you're depressed, anxious, insomiac, etc. etc., you probably should avoid treatment. Otherwise it may appear in your medical record and someone will help themselves to your mental health history under the guise of a "firearms background check".

Good times.

Why does the prez and congress get their own special health care, get to vote for pay raises for themselves, and get special protection and health care.

everything but the special protection is bullshit I'm in complete agreement. But you have to have the secret service you realize this yes? Otherwise the president of the U.S could never leave the country maybe not even the city of D.C. This isn't the 1800's when presidents used to hop the trains back to their home states for the weekend.

So you think a significant number of guns used in crimes are being bought legally through private sales between law abiding citizens and then being sold to gang bangers? You can't be serious.

Oh but what about the assault weapons ban? What happened last time that was in effect? Any drop in any gun violence or crime rate? But ok, let's limit the rounds per magazine to 10 rounds or less. But first get back with me on how many rounds are used in the overwhelming majority of gun crimes.

There was a republican and a dem mayor on tv a few weeks ago who were saying this is exactly what they're police depts are telling them of how guns get into the cities at the rate they do. People figured out you can make a fortune buying guns on the private market and selling them in the cities. If you were to buy this volume in gun shops it would raise eyebrows. Not sure how they would enforce this, I don't have the answer but c'mon dude...private sales are kind of wild. You have no idea who walks into these gun shows....i mean we just have to draw a line somewhere. Otherwise there's no point to any laws whatsoever.

I'd say fuck anyone who thinks their family is more important than my own. We didn't elect his fucking kids. They're just another civilian's kids. He's a civilian with a high paying federal job, not a king. I'm not exactly left or right, doesn't matter to me who the fuck is in office. To tell me it's a matter of national security if someone's kids get fucked with, but just a sad day if mine do, that's total bullshit.

nobody is saying his kids are more important than yours dude, relax. But please explain to me how you don't understand the potential national security issues that could arise from a POTUS's children being abducted.

Vendors at gun shows are required to run background checks already. And you're saying there's a huge market for guns in the streets of inner cities and they're paying big money for these guns? I was under the impression that guns being sold illegally on the street were cheap. No one in their right mind would take a gun and sell it in the inner city to try to turn a profit.

Oh, you mean in cities where that's already illegal to own guns like those such as Washington DC and Chicago? Those laws are working great.

I have an idea! Let's make pot, coke and heroin illegal in those cities too and then they'll be drug free.

Yeah, we'll just make two categories of mental illness: Mildly crazy and seriously crazy. Then we can make two types of medication too! I bet no one in the mildly crazy category taking mildly crazy medication would ever harm anyone

You have absolutely no idea how diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions are done.

And of course I wouldn't take a xannie now. That would make it into my medical record and any random joe could claim I'm buying a gun and see it.

Good times.

Luvox was what was Eric Harris was scripted and what they say caused him to flip out. Would you be uncomfortable with a teacher that was scripted Luvox? They script that for everyone with mild OCD and social anxiety. It's like a xanax it just lasts longer. Do you have any idea how many people you are talking about?

I'm sure our wise, insightful government could easily design algorithms that would tease apart Eric Harris' medical records and realize that he was a threat to society.

Maybe we should have a "mental health threat registry" where every doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, school councilor, etc. etc. would be legally required to register anyone they deemed to be a mental health threat.

This is, after all, for the children. What could possibly be more important than that?
