Body fat before cycle

I have been told reduce my fat % currently 19% to 15% before my first cycle. Why is this too high? Also what's best way to lose fat quickly?
I have been on cyclical ketogenic diet for past 2 months and do 20 mins cardio twice a week after weights session and 30mins on a Sunday morning. Is this enough? Any suggestion to my cardio plan?

having too high a body fat going into cycle will make you feel BLAH during cycle and tired all the time.. high blood pressure will result and have a domino effect and bring on more sides. you just don't want that.

you want to go into cycle in TOP SHAPE and feeling like a beast so you can kill it hard during. then you cycle off and give the body a break. thats the way to do it. i'm almost done with my cycle and honestly i cannot wait for it to be over.. i put on quite a bit of mass and i'm starting to feel run down and HUNGRY all the time.. it kinda sucks to be honest.. had i gone into cycle with high body fat i would of felt these effects right off the bat.. there is only so much mass you should put on before you need to back off.

i weigh more now than i've ever weighed and its freaky. i'm 194 pounds at just 5 6. and i've got a pretty small skeleton structure.. i feel like a bowling ball

losing fat quickly isn't always a good idea and I will tell you why. when you run a calorie deficit diet and start making progress its wonderful, but if you ever cheat even once your body will quickly store those calories and literally you will gain a shitload of weight quickly back.. this is why so many people who try to lose weight fail.

a smarter strategy is SLOWLY reduce calories and go into a deficit. also slowly increase cardio. you will lose fat but you need to be patient and do it the right way. i would even encourage you to drop to 13% body fat to leave yourself room on cycle to bulk without fear

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ spot on advice from steve... you are putting yourself at a much higher risk of side effects at a higher body fat... just to add to what steve said, you are also at a higher risk for estrogen conversion as well... you never want to use steroids if you are not in proper shape... get to that point first and then run it... otherwise you are putting yourself at a much higher risk and you will not be getting the max benefit from the cycle either...

Sounds like you need to drop the shitty diet 19% is pretty bad eat clean to stay lean ;-).
And when I run test it always help me lose fat always people will say it doesn't but it does for me!

Thanks guys. Think I will reduce carbs further especially on weekends is where I seem to eat more probably about 160g of carbs on sat and sun then 50g on week days all during the day except after training. Do you think I should reduce carbs further?
I am 5ft 9, weigh 170lb and 34 years old.

Eating 160g of carbs on the weekend per day and 50g of carbs during the week is pretty low on carbs actually. That may not be the problem unless you aren't counting correctly. His are you tracking cals? What are your current caloric levels and macro ratios?

If you can post up an example of your diet maybe we can help steer you in the right direction.

Typical week day:
Meal 1:40g oats plus casein protein shake
Meal2: chicken breast plus 40g pasta
Meal3: chicken salad (whole chicken breast sliced up)
Meal 4: Pre workout protein shake with omega 3 oils(3 tabs)
Meal: post workout shake (20g) protein with apple and an orange
Meal 6: salmon 40g with brown rice 40g
On weekends I have the same but replace the shakes with a 40g protein and 40g carb meal. Plus I have 30-40g carbs with all meals except the evening meals on weekends.

Oats, pasta and brown rice will be more than 50g carbs.
I eat those meals on my carb re feed day.
I stick to eggs, egg whites, vegetables , lean meat, chicken, fish, almonds. I average 50g per day in carbs using a calorie counter app on my phone.

Low carb isn't always the answer it's your total amount of calories coming in its better to lower every macronutrient not just one or the other abd figure out how many calories you burn each day and set up your diet accordingly. this is articulated well in mike mentzers book heavy duty nutrition, I have been following this the past 13 weeks for my diet leading up to my bodybuilding show and it has worked wonders for me just my personal experience

its not about what your current diet is. its what it has been. no way you have been eating like that for the past year or so + working out consistently and you are still 19%.

you said its been 2 months on this diet, it can take longer than that to lose fat if you have been slacking for a while. like i said in my prior post there is no shortcuts with or without the help of steroids. there just isn't.

its about being consistent with your diet.

i would stick with your diet for another week or two, then gradually start taking out more calories out. pasta is a killer. i would dump that and swap in green veggies instead.

then in another 2 weeks swap out the brown rice for more veggies.. and so on. maybe add in some cage free eggs as well instead

before you know it you will be under 15%
