Is god calling out to you?

Yeah Cindy... You would be a good witch... ?? wtf
Wiccan, not witch. There's a difference.

Actually, most people I know who follow the pagan path were/are EXTREMELY well read in traditional scriptural teachings (I know quite a few pagans/wiccans who have degrees in religious studies). The more they learned, the more they wanted to learn and they eventually realized the "mainstream" material couldn't provide that because critical information is just not there, and it's not there for a reason (you won't know it's missing until you are ready to see it's missing). You have to realize there's got to be more and have the desire to seek further on your own.

Christianity, and it's roots, have much more depth than about 99% of laity is ready to embrace, which is why it's a mystery and shrouded in symbolism. When you're ready for the next class you start to realize there's gotta be more to it and you start looking. That doesn't have to mean you're automatically going to discard your Christian beliefs either. I actually know Jewish pagans and Christian pagans.

But life is about evolution; people move at their own pace, and that's what's right for them.

And you see, everything I'm saying in this post goes back to some things I'm saying in post #71. You telling me I'm doomed to damnation because I don't embrace Christianity is roughly equivalent to a kindergartener telling her older sister that babies are delivered by storks because that's what her best friend told her.

I live in what I call "The Bible Belt" of California. One day, while driving home from Jackson (11 mile trip) I told the family "Let's count how many churches between here and home." In the 11 miles we counted 14 churches...just on that one road. From what I've observed in the so called "Christians" here in this county I want nothing to do with their brand of religion. For the most part, I've witnessed too much mean spirited, backstabbing behavior out of a significant portion of them...not sure if it's "What Jesus Would Do".

One day, one of my employees (a devout christian that practically lives at his church) tried to TELL me to vote against the initiative to allow gay marriage because his Pastor told his congregation to vote against it as gays are destroying the "American Family". I went "nuclear" on his sorry ass. He found out right there that one does not EVER tell me to vote on legislation that takes right/freedoms/liberties away from someone...He quickly regretted opening his mouth as I reduced his argument to shambles and asked him to justify/defend his argument citing constitutional law.

Yes...I have very strong opinions regarding religion and much of it is not favorable.

Good for you for giving it to him. People need to mind their own business.

I think that gay marriage is something that should be between a man and a woman

Most people only really understand there own religion. Maybe 20% about other religiouns, just enough to say they don't like them. But it us common to get those two confused with one another. I've known one of each, wiccan and witch. So I know that there completely different. But most people think there the same thing.

I used to live up there. Beautiful, wonderful area. I never really noticed it as a "bible belt". I think I saw more criminals than bible thumpers where I was at :)
