You got that shit right. I've been on the bad end of that.
when the cops in asskicking gear knock down the door they all start screaming something you can't really understand and you've got less than a second to get on your face. It's a very goddamn dangerous situation for anyone in there and it absolutely does not matter if you're an 8 year old kid or a 90 year old woman. If your back is to them, or your hands are in your pockets, or you're scratching your ass....or just about anything other than facing them square with your hands clearly open....you'll probably get shot.
Ive been on the bad side of that too... and I didnt hear the word "POLICE" one time. I heard an explosion, the door get kicked in (which sounded like another explosion) and then the air was full of smoke and its just "GET THE FUCK DOWN" "HANDS IN THE AIR" "HANDS ON YOUR HEAD" "CHECK THE BACK". Im not saying they didnt say "POLICE", but they sure screamed a lot of shit besides "Police".
And for someone to point an assault rifle at a bunch of men congregated outside his house in masks and all black and assault rifles, and NOT point a gun at them seems naive. For someone to defend themselves, and especially their family, is never wrong.
Where I'm from it is not uncommon at all for home invaders to come 8 or 10 deep to houses where illicit activity is going on or cash is suspected to be, dressed as SWAT in knee pads and helmets and all black and pretend to be dirty police, a lot of the time the dealer actually thinks he got raided and got off with only losing his product. If this guy DID have 10 kilos of cocaine, much less weed, he still didnt deserve to die. Turns out he had NOTHING.
Usually these (criminal home invaders, not SWAT) guys at least hit places that HAVE narcotics and cash to take, unlike SWAT teams... Once youve seen them get to do whatever the fuck they want, and been on your knees with an assault rifle at your head just for BEING in a room... I dont care how cautious they want to be to protect their safety, I get that... but on the other side of the door is someone who doesnt even know you are coming in, and you are gonna be covered in body armor and extra clips and flashbangs and cry about "Officer safety above all else"??? Fuck that. The role of the POLICE is to PROTECT AND SERVE. Neither their safety nor motives are above any of the citizenry. They are conducting raids on SUSPECTS, not CONVICTS, for the crimes they intend to arrest. Fuck an abuse of power, in any of its forms. And all you big motherfuckers that look scarier than me - Im under 210lbs - forget it. Your gettin your face split just to teach you a lesson about being/looking stronger than a cop, even if you dont do shit. Is this statement a gross generalization and completely biased? Yes. But, in my experience, has been true 100% of the time.
