Steriods have made my hair thin quite a bit.

first cycle not a problem, taking test and deca. i was taking dutasteride to stop shedding and heard so many neg. comments about taking it with deca i stopped and that's been 5 wks ago and i'm not shedding a bit while i'm on my cycle. go figure.
I don't want to go into the details of my horrible experiences. These are my conclusions:
1. If you are vulnerable to androgenic alopecia (family history, early receding hairline, thinning on top), you probably will lose some hair.
2. You need to start fanesteride BEFORE you start your cycle. I think it makes a major difference what gets to your hair receptors (and occupy receptors) first: androgens, or androgen blockers.
3. I think if you use both finasteride and minoxidil together, they have synergistic effect. You may also add Nizoral 2% shampoo for maximal effect.
4. If you use above combo for long enough time after you finish your cycle, your hair probably will ultimately grow back to (or come close to) their pre-cycle thickness.

EQ has actually made me grow body hairs in a few places one here one there Oh yeah and I have a tail now too but besides that my family does not really have problems with hairloss. It is supposedly determinableto some degreeby looking at the men on your moms side of the family have lost their hair. That should tell you if you are prone to male patterned Baldness. But even if you are a shaved/bald head is in these days

I shed like crazy on or off cycle, but I still have a shit load left, with no bald spots.
I haven't cut my hair in 6 years, so my theory is just a couple dozen hairs will clog up my drain.
Body hair: Shit it's a daily misadventure to get rid of.

You have to remember, steroids (DHT derrivatives or compounds that convert to DHT) can't make your hair fall out unless you're genetically going to loose it already. So in other words, it just going to speed up the process thats going to happen anyways.
If your mom's dad is not bald, your in the clear. No way you're going to loose hair genetically.
With that said, my mom's dad is bald, but I am not balding. My brother is though. There is a still a 50% chance you still might not inherit your granfather's passed on though your mom chromosone.
On the other hand I'm prone to gyno.

after reading a couple of the replies contributing their lack of hair loss to hgh , i realized i am also taking hgh and started about 6wks before the test/deca cycle. like powerbuilder i have no bald spot but have always shedded like crazy........ but now no more shedding! could it be the hgh? it does seem to coincide with my using hgh. if this is true it would be great because for years i took finasteride and just recently switched to dutasteride. if i can get by without that stuff i will use gh for a long time.ole farte' said:

Didnt notice any hair loss the first few cycles i did (including test, halo, winny, dbol, drol, deca), but over the past year, ive had bouts of shedding in temple areas......grandfathers were not bald......could be severe stress, i get overwhelmed sometimes by it. I had really thick hair like 2 years ago, shed a lot before i graduated college, it came back, now its at it again.

Never shed one bit during any of my previous cycles (have even run tren, low dosage dbol, deca, and proviron)... but this time around (test + proviron + higher dosage dbol), I'm shedding like crazy. Been hesitant to run finasteride or dutasteride because of possible hindrance of gains, but it seems alot of people run them during cycles with no issues. None of the topical stuff I'm using so far seems to be doing anything spectacular.
for some reason lost the most hair on eq...head was itching constant. too bad cause it's one of my favs! and I've taken tren, winny, deca, test, primo, var...and soon too be masteron stacked with eq...have u ever seen goodfellas? anyways I might be needing a wig from "moreys wigs" after this one!

steroids put hair on my chest. and in my nose.
I still have nice thick hair. 
i'm prone to MPB but i've been using the previously mentioned hair protocol for years with fantastic results. in fact, about 6 months ago my hair was the thickest and densest it's been for as long as i can remember. all that said, i made the mistake of running masteron in my last cycle. f-me. it's been falling out like nuts. steer clear of masteron if you are prone. i'm fairly confident i'll grow it back, but only time will tell.

I'm in a tough spot since I'm only 21 and I'm not sure if I'm predisposed. My dad is mighty thin on top, and I have a moderately receeded hairline (goes back on the temple about 2 inches on each side, but still full in the middle), but it got like that when I got around 18 and it hasn't gotten any worse since. I'm thinking about just putting spirolactin on my scalp as a precaution while on test - you think that would help with just using that by itself and maybe 1% nizoral shampoo 2x/week? I really don't want to run finasteride since I'm not even sure if I would have a problem and I hear it can hinder gains?

I don't buy the maternal grandfather thing. My moms dad had a pretty full head of hair at 75. So do my moms 4 brothers. My dad on the other hand was pretty much bald by 40.
I'm 44 and have been thinning since I was 25 but have not noticed an increase while on AAS. I am however using dutasteride and nizoral 1% so that may be helping.

hair is thick and i love it. when i was younger it pissed me off because i wanted to grow it out but it was so thick it was a friggin fro but now i love it. was that second sentence a run-on sentence?

AAS have never bothered my hairline,,,any of them.
damn you guys for making up threads like this! I had a dream last night I quit HRT and then start again after a few months and I was bald on top of my head! Damn stupid dreams.
Kool comments.. On my mother side, there is plenty of thick hairline. On my father side hair is thing... My father was bald at 45... completely.. horseshow pattern...
As for me.. I am counting my blessing... I am on TRT... so no choice.. I take Finasteride, nizoral shampoo and cream... so far it has helped...
I think is genetic... and part hederitary... if you are goingbald, then AAs will do it faster... specially WINSTROL... and Proviron....
I notice every cycle I have more hair clogs in my drains compared to when I'm off cycle, that is they only reason I notice it. My hair on top still seems pretty full. But as to the comment on hair other places my fiance has kindly poined out two large patches starting to form on my back. May be due to my Italian genes rather then the gear though.

You either have the hair loss gene or you don't..
if you do, you're losing the shit..
if you don't, you aren't..
Steroids could increase the rate if you do have that gene, though.

I was already losing my hair by 22, this just sped it up. I've shaved it off for the past 8 years.

I have been battling baldness since just after I turned 17 ... many, MANY years ago ... tried all sorts of laser therapies, creams, sprays ... hell, you name it, I tried it (except for plugs ... saw too many infections with that shit!!!). When I started using AAS, my baldness was already at a level where gear couldn't make it THAT much worse ... though there has been a significant thinning out over the last 2 years on gear ... oh well, couldn't care less, I have a facial structure which suits any hair style and any type of spectacle frame, so skinhead is all good! LOL!!!!!

Deca is very safe. Equipoise is supposed to be pretty good as well. Typically, AAS with a lower Androgenic effect are safer on the hairline.
Some that are known to be poor choices are. Winny, Dbol, High doses of Test exc.
Mine's a bit thinner... I blame Dbol *shakes fist*

Depends man.. we're all different... I used 30mg/day... and was fine... then at the end of the cycle went.. "Huuuh.. my hair is thinner..."
Its really a genetic thing. If it runs in your genes than you have a good chance of it. I personally have never had an issue with hair loss, but I have friends that had issues with it on juice.,

Primo and proviron have taken a toll on mine. But I used N2Shampoo with my last run and lost NO hair. I naturally lose a lot, even now months after my cycle I'm not losing a fraction of what I did before.

Looking at the men on your mom's side for hair loss is a myth. Men only need 1 copy of the balding gene from mom or dad. Women need 2 copies of the gene to go bald. Just an FYI. I teach genetics.
