This is irritating as fuck about the Apple Store

So my ipod was having problems so I took it to the apple store to see what they could do, if anything. The "Genius" restored it and said if if doesnt help then I can bring it in for an exchange for any ipod for $79 or some such deal. My ipod worked for one workout basically then went back to being fucked up again so I went back to Apple to take them up on their offer. I got there and was told I had to make an appointment to do this even though I was standing there in person. So I said to the "Genius" telling me this "Well what are you doing right now? This cant take but a minute why cant we do it right now?" He said the original guy who looked at my ipod has to being up the last visit I had there with his notes and all that horseshit to make sure all was done to try to fix it.

Im pretty sure this thing is not going to be fixed but it pisses me off that I was standing right there and those retards said I had to make an appointment to come back two days later to do this.

I dont know of any other retailer like that but it smacks of pompousness and as such I will be the biggest asshole biker dick everytime I walk in there and demand to speak to a manager everytime some dainty "Genius" wants to discard common sense and customer service.

Bet they would have given me the red carpet treatment if i was wearing hemp and vibrams

I hate that stupid appointment bullshit.

It's those neckbeards way of getting back at us for stuffing them in their locker in highschool.

I thank Apple for driving a lot of innovation, but I curse them for their proprietary ways and intentionally designed in limitations.

I've used an iPod for years and loved it, but I have an Android based cell phone and love that even more.

This fuckin genius had "Imagine" tattooed on the side of his wrist and apparently it was fresh because a neckbeard complimented him on it while I was jawjacking with him. I almost said "Yea, Imagine me exchanging my ipod in two minutes while Im actually standing here"

lol..pwned by shoddy Apple products and their 40% profit margin...I want Obama to go after Apple for robbing the American people as opposed to the oil companies that have single digit profit margins. :)

I went from an iPhone to a Droid X -- massive mistake.

That piece of crap droid was an absolute nightmare. I recently switched back and realized how incredible iPhones really are.

The thing about an iPhone is nothing. You spend no time rebooting it. It doesn't lock up. It smoothly moves from function to function. It searches mail on your server quickly. Basically it's an appliance that always runs, whereas my Droid X was a gadget that works off-and-on.

And I too suspect pot fog syndrome. I hat pot foggots.

They try and sell you more stuff there now.
Stuff you don't need. Having a 19 year old kid try and sell me shit I don't just made me laugh at the kI'd.
I told him he was pretty slick and he said he wasn't trying to sell me anything.
I said I know... Exactly.

lmao...I had exactly the same experience at Best Buy...but it was with a shitty MP3 player...fuck are Apple the only ones who can make an MP3 player?

I've also gone back to my iPhone. I hate charging my phone every few hours (as I did with my HTCs). Crappy Android battery life.

I've had a shitty GPX MP3 player forever... it has take quite a few beatings and still charges, runs and plays like a champ, audio is very loud, it's only 2GB bu it has expandable memory so the possibilities are endless.... oh and I bought it for $2 in a yard sale, who knows how much love and damage it had before that :D

make an appointment then, faggot

it's not the employee's fault that he has to follow protocol

btw i've had nothing but awesome experiences at their genius bar

i cant stand setting foot in that fucking place.

the last time they tried to pull that rescheduling shit with me i shot the kid a look and they made it happen then n there.

Geniuses? WTF?

Never been in an apple store and by the sound of things here I never will.
LOL@ android not working, mine has been a champ besides an occasional freeze for a second, not even requiring a reboot. Iphones are nice, I agree with that. It's all about choices. Also there are apps for power management that take care of battery issues. Mine will last 48 hours. Just gotta turn down screen brightness when you can, turn off bluetooth/wifi when not needed, all this right at the touch of a button on the first UI page.

It was funny... when I went to Verizon to move from my Droid X to an iPhone, the customer service person there was still touting the Android platform.

I handed her my phone and said: "Ok, try this phone". I hadn't restarted it in a good 3-4 hours, so it was painfully slow. She clearly knew what things to try and of course they were all slow. Then she recommended the Advanced Task Killer (or whatever it was called). I pointed out to her that it was already running. So we had it kill all apps and it remained painfully slow. Then she said: "Oh, it's just your phone." and proceeded to sell me an iPhone.

It was if she'd had that conversation a few dozen times already, at least.

sounds like you might have just gotten a lemon phone.

Yup, love my ipod touch/nano, didn't appreciate the capped limitations Iphone provides

Android > Iphone all day

After I rooted my DX, 3x battery life, unlimited apps, boot whatever customized roms. Hell last month I made my DX rom software the exact replica of Linux and Iphones

20 years ago, I would have been all over projects like that.

Now, I see phones (and computers) as appliances. I push the "on" button and they work. No tweaks, no setup, no maintenance are acceptable.

When I do want to play, I play (typically with my 5-axis mill). But when I have to work, anything that distracts me is a big no-no.

my htc evo pwns the iphone. Well, at the very least edges it, and not having to deal with apple bullshit in my opinion pushes it to pwnage territory.

That south park episode was both on point and downright traumatizing. I'm still sick on my stomach over the human centIpad stuff.

I find that with RIM and with WinPhone7, you get the same no maintenance as Apple.

I don't have to tell you about the tweaking I had to do with my Galaxy Tab to get it working with a decent battery life.

the thundering stampede of a 650 will scare them into capitulation !!@#!@#!@#!@#!@#@!#$@$$$

This is what I started with -- sort of. That box the screen is sitting on is an expansion interface, which was only for rich people who wanted the ludicrous 16k of ram instead of 4k. There was no way I was getting that. I got my TRS-80 Model 1 Level 2 computer back in 1978.

My first computer!

Those were hard core. You had to put some/all of that together yourself, didn't you?

I was 11. That was a little too advanced for me at the time.

Got lucky an it came all together for me. My Dad took care of the rest. :)

I still remember the game "Weather Attack" on it (where you controlled weather to attack people's houses).

I remember the TRS-80 game, "Jovians Attack"

It was entirely character based, but asteroids-like.
