Posterior labrum surgery recovery timeline

Doomsday

New member
On December 31 I'm getting surgery for a posterior labrum tear from the 8 to 11 o clock position. My doc and PT have come up with this timeline. I'm going to be 28 years old. People who have had this surgery or know about this kind of surgery tell me what you think:

1) Mon. 12-31-07 get surgery for a torn labrum.
2) Weds. 01-07-08 1 WEEK POST SURGERY start physical therapy with my therapist.
3) Mon. 02-04-08 5 WEEKS POST SURGERY take off sling.
4) Mon. 02-18-08 7 WEEKS POST SURGERY stop physical therapy with my therapist and start my own physical therapy strengthening program (under the eye of my PT, I will be doing this at his facility).
5) Mon. 03-31-08 3 MONTHS POST SURGERY start running on treadmill.
6) Mon. 06-02-08 5 MONTHS POST SURGERY stop physical therapy strengthening program and start light weightlifting with no restrictions.
7) Mon. 07-14-08 6 1/2 MONTHS POST SURGERY start boxing training.

What do you guys think? Is it too conservative and I should speed it up? Is it too pushy and I should fall back on some things? What do you guys think? Is this a good post labrum surgery recovery schedule?

I undergo a Lasik surgery last year, but it was a tough decision for me because my girl told me that im too young to undergo such surgery (she’s referring to the risk involved in the said surgery) but a friend of mine already did it 2 years priory to my LASik and he shared his knowledge and informed the risk pros and cons about LASik. He also mentioned that as with any surgical procedures, there are risk associated with LAsik, but in the hand of highly skilled and experience surgeon. Reason I made up a decision that im going to do it. For almost 20 years i suffered astigmatism and ive been wearing contact lens for almost half of my life, made me not to do things to the fullest. After surgery for 2 months I experienced night side effects (halos) but after that, I able to see 2020without the help of neither glasses nor contacts. The best part of it is I can now do things to the fullest like diving and some stuff that I like to do since I was young. I consider having LASik a wonderful and a life changing experience to me. Im very proud and contented with my life right now and I feel good and look good about it. It’s a life changing for me. Thanks to my2020.

I think it's a pretty reasonable timeline. When you get back into boxing. Go very slow at first. None of the PT will prepare you for the impact stress of punching. So slow and let it build up.
