Personal Trainers - Question?

I was thinking of getting into becoming a personal trainer at the Y near me or even build my own clientel. I was told by a personal trainer that there is big money in being a personal trainer and a good profession to get into if you like training and helping people.

My question is, is there really good money in it. Would you be able to support yourself and a family on it?

There CAN be "big money" in it if you have the following:

1. Reputable Certification
2. At least a year of scraping by while you do apprentice-type work and build a clientele
