Your personality as a song?

-Ariel-

-Thandzilla-
Platinum
Have you ever listened to a song and maybe it was something about the rhythm or lyrics that just perfectly resonate with your entire being?

Where just listening to the music, you automatically feel understood, or perhaps just feel connected, not so isolated, and in awe and admiration, you are like, man this artist really gets it.

Is there one song or album that sounds like your personality translated into music?

What song or album would be the title soundtrack of your persona?

I dont know...

I am very nice and loving to family, friends and good people.
I am very mean to assholes, idiots and anyone who is trying to do something negative to me.

This is me in a nutshell:

Feeling Good

Birds flying high
You know how I feel
Sun in the sky
You know how I feel
Reeds driftin' on by
You know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life

For me
And I'm feeling good

Fish in the sea
You know how I feel
River running free
You know how I feel
Blossom in the tree
You know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good

Dragonfly out in the sun you know what I mean, don't you know
Butterflies all havin' fun you know what I mean (that's transformed)
Sleep in peace when the day is done
And this old world is a new world
And a bold world
For me

Stars when you shine
You know how I feel
Scent of the pine
You know how I feel
Yeah freedom is mine
And I know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me

And I'm feeling good

I listen to this song every day and can clean my whole house to it real quick if the adrenaline's pumping. It takes two plays and my house is picked up. for real. When my DK's hear me playing it on the big stereo they KNOW I'm putting them to work.

LOVE THAT SONG

It depends on the situation I'm in and the mood that I'm in.
Here's an explanation of what I just said:

When I'm peaceful, meditative, contemplative:

When I'm depressed, lonely, wretched, forlorn:

When I'm angry, destructive, a force not to be wrecked with:

When I'm fighting, want to pick a fight:

I always feel so unrequitted when I hear that song... it reminds of being shot down when I was younger... appetite for destruction was my favorite album by GnR

Gay ass Elton John--- i'm still standing.

That and Bobby Brown-- My prerogative:

Okay what song do you want played at your funeral... any song you can pick?
what song do you want your friends to hear and think of you?

That whole video is so you... OMG, I mean the transformation fruity analogy from moth to butterfly... the factory as a symbol for you busting your ass and the re creation process, and the whole new dawn, new day, new life,
for you... you need to have this song copyrighted for your persona... great pick... so symbolic... yup I totally agree... Nob a huge bubl'e fan, but that video kicked ass... -no homo- :)

Okay, I went from all my naive ideals, as an idealist... and everything I believe and still do, though not nearly as self righteous about it...

with the braveheart video, then with your sorrow pic, thats how I want to die... it just sounds so sanguine/ yet nostalgic/ you can capture this with your lyrical talents... but... if the advice I could give to swole for his ex were translated to music, thats the message I was trying get across...

The papa roach clip just sounds like everybody's ego trying to justify their point and the music gives the atmosphere of self validity, and as a result of everyone being misguided in seeking secruity, self satisfaction at the expense of others, no one gets to be understood... I know, I know I wander too much oh well.

Roy's clip is straight up battle... and seeing this back to back with the last clip made a story of giving in to the ego, and then straight up destruction/ its like you just told me 2 different stories through music and images, the first version the ideal life and what the world could be, and the second version where we are headed.

I don't get that from the song, although the guy that told me I reminded him of the song might agree with you in retrospect.

I see you in the song.. but I also see someone else, who I dug on in the past who was beautifully strong, and she had a mom who was wac and had to take care of her brothers by herself... and she trusted men, well no analogy, just trust and letting people in weren't really on her plate at the time, but she was older and I was so naive... but I do see you clearly in that song, to go into the lyrics would just be redundant... Great song, I look back now and think wow axl rose really did have genius in him.

Its aural, breezy the distant chimes and subtle whispers make me want to move spontaneously, and it doesn't try to amp you up to a schizophrenic pace, its introspective yet extremely friendly, I can't think of more idealized version of myself:

great song... this is a feeling.. I think that moment when you connect with someone, right before it, when I was younger, that is what it sounded like...
right before it got uncomfortable cause you connected with someone and were outside yourself for a second

Well it's Saturday night
You're all dressed up in blue
I've been watching you awhile
Maybe you've been watching me too
And so somebody ran out
Left somebody's heart in a mess
Well if you're looking for love
Honey I'm tougher than the rest

Some girls they want a handsome Dan
Or some good-lookin' Joe
On their arm some girls want a
sweet-talkin' Romeo
But around here baby
I've learned you get what you can get
So if you're looking for love
Honey I'm tougher than the rest

Oh your road is dark
And it's a thin, thin line
But I want you to know
I'd walk it for you anytime

And all your other boyfriends
They couldn't pass the test
So if you're looking for love
Honey I'm tougher than the rest

Well it ain't no secret
I've been around a time or two
Well I don't know but maybe
You've been around too
Well there's another dance
All you gotta do is say yes
And if you're looking for love
Honey I'm tougher than the rest

And if you're ready for love
Honey I'm tougher than the rest

Personality wise:

But here's how I've been feelin lately.....And it describes the last 3 years of my life to a T. Everytime I hear it, I can't stop the tears....

When I'm in the gym, "in the zone", and "dialed in"

Three Days Grace - "It's All Over"

Other days in the gym anything by Velvet Acid Christ, some weird hard hitting industrial...

Or when I'm driving "lost in thought" Massive Attack, and other relaxing trip-hop artists. :)

I would be like playing rage against the machine if I were in your shoes due to all the stress... I love that song it reminds me of dazed and confused, which I love and that reminds me of my s o she kinda looks like the freshman jewish girl who went on a first date with the nerdy guy... wait that is my story, never mind.

I mean doesn't that video kinda make you get that feeling in just below your throat, kinda like hearing a song you used to hear and like as a kid... just being a kid again... and then ya get kinda sad...

okay
but the lyrics juxtapose the song... with the reality of a relationship, getting past the initial can't eat, sleep, stage and facing the real part that this is a real human being with their own flaws too... and getting past that... atleast thats what I get.. Velvett brought axl rose and you bring springsteen, two different artists but both had their own genius that I've overlooked until now... very cool pic smurfy, the video fits your fun loving nature, and the song has so much substance that I've never really reflected on.

Great fucking song, jr, reminds me of simpler times, shit you must of had a good childhood, the rhythm is so serene, yet triumphant, like a celebration of youth... now i'm just nostalgic... this song is the antithesis of the neurotic sound of today.

I can't complain about my childhood too much, that's for sure. The first song seems to "hope all things" in it's melody, the intermittent chant always seemed like a prayer to me. The song itself, however, is actually about life in a small town in Northern England when times were tough and is a tribute to another songwriter, so it's an interesting contrast.

The second one, well, it's a statement of perfect angst for anyone who grew up in the 80's. The sound is pure cool unlike all of the "kill your mother, eat your dog" metal B.S. that's published today and the sentiments are simple, "I should have warned you about me . . . I'm sick and I'm tired . . . And I don't care anymore."

Like we are innately driven by our own ego to seek pleasure or feel good, but in the end left unchecked, it is the biggest reason why so many people, including yours truly, has so many illusions about life, form themost mundane aspects, to the most subtle and deep. But yeah the wall street chaos, the whole feel of the video reminds me of the ego of the self just all knotted up and driven by the need for pleasure and security even at the cost of others. See, I wander... :)

That song is you, as much as buble personifies curvy mommy and the transformation, bitch and your style of expressing your values, ideals, and concerns no matter how whitebread consumerist society holds you makes utter sense... I read your posts about velvetts past lives and concur with you, valid argument... You and I are in the same boat...

"Go ahead as you waste your days with thinking
When you fall everyone stands
Another day and you've had your fill of sinking
With the life held in your
Hands are shaking cold
These hands are meant to hold

Speak to me, when all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
Move along
Move along

So a day when you've lost yourself completely
Could be a night when your life ends
Such a heart that will lead you to deceiving
All the pain held in your
Hands are shaking cold
Your hands are mine to hold

Speak to me, when all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
Move along
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)

When everything is wrong we move along
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
When everything is wrong, we move along
Along, along, along

When all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
[x3]

(Move along)
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
Right back what is wrong
We move along"

Sheep (Waters) 10:19

Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away;
Only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air.
You better watch out,
There may be dogs about
I've looked over Jordan, and I have seen
Things are not what they seem.

What do you get for pretending the danger's not real.
Meek and obedient you follow the leader
Down well trodden corridors into the valley of steel.
What a surprise!
A look of terminal shock in your eyes.
Now things are really what they seem.
No, this is no bad dream.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
He makes me down to lie
Through pastures green He leadeth me the silent waters by.
With bright knives He releaseth my soul.
He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places.
He converteth me to lamb cutlets,
For lo, He hath great power, and great hunger.
When cometh the day we lowly ones,
Through quiet reflection, and great dedication
Master the art of karate,
Lo, we shall rise up,
And then we'll make the bugger's eyes water.

Bleating and babbling I fell on his neck with a scream.
Wave upon wave of demented avengers
March cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream.

Have you heard the news?
The dogs are dead!
You better stay home
And do as you're told.
Get out of the road if you want to grow old.

On this album someone was severely pissed off at the world, and it came out.......

y Nashville friends think I'm strange to make my home out on the range

Think it's nothin' but a God-forsaken land
Why don't you bring your guitar and family, move on down to Tennesse
Well, I just smile because they don't understand
But if they ever saw a sunrise on a mountain mornin'
Watched those cotton candy clouds roll by
They'd know why I live beneath these Western Skies

Verse 2

I got peace of mind and elbow room I love the smell of sage in bloom
Catch a rainbow on my fishin' line
We got county fairs and rodeos, ain't a better place for my kids to grow

Just turn 'em loose in the western summer time
And if you ever held your woman on a summer's evening
While the prairie moon was blazin' in her eyes
You'd know why I live beneath these Western Skies

Bridge:
You ain't lived until you've watched those Northern Lights
Sat around the campfire and hear the coyotes call at night
Makes you feel alright

Verse 3

So guess I'll stay right where I'm at, wear my boots and my cowboy hat
But I'll come and see ya once in a while
I'll bring my guitar and sing my songs, sorry if I don't stay too long
I love Tennessee but ya know it just not my style
I gotta be where I can see those Rocky Mountains
Ride my horse and watch an eagle fly
I gotta live my life and write my songs beneath these Western Skies

When I die you can bury me beneath these Western Skies, Yippee-ay!

Dude you can take a bro from the show me state, but not the show me out ouf him, hilarious
That reminds me of branson...
reminds me of listening to some highschool offensive lineman play that out of his truck in some random field while igot drunk as hell, oh highschool nostalgia. lol.
