Your heaviest deadlifts?

I usually scoff at these sort of posts, but I'm kind of curious....
What is the most you have deadlifted, for reps and/or max singles. I mean full range deads off the floor, not pins in a power rack, and indicate if you used straps or not.

My best single is a 545lbs, two weeks ago I pulled 455lbs for 3 sets of five, which was a pb for reps, no straps or weightlifting belts for either one.
I'm 5'9", 208lbs

I have pulled 551 with a 2" bar from the floor...been months ago and I feel much stronger now. Of course...one can not use straps on a 2" bar and I did not wear a belt or suit.

That's impressive with a 2" bar, you do more training in partials for your meets don't you?

Yes...I do partials if that is an event for my meet. I may do near full range deads for my next contest...every 3-4 weeks. Garry Frank only deads at meets....

I think the world record for a 2" bar deadlift is now 620...but I expect it to be broken soon.

I've never really done partials, I've done a lot of deads off a 5-6" box to work on my sticking point, which is the floor, its hard as hell reaching all the way to your feet to grab the bar, I've done triples on 475 off the box, a single on 5 plates, but now have bursitis in my hips to show for it

Hmmm...I do rev grip high pulls with an elevated feet position. The bar is almost sitting on my feet. This simulates the tire flip.

Maybe you should look at what kind of hip rotation that you are doing when you pull. Do you conventional or sumo?

B True

conventional, I did the injury a few years ago when I was going heavy ass to the floor squats and heavy deads off the box in the same week for 8-10 weeks, I think the damage added up.
I can control the pain with ice/ibuprofin but have not taken enough time off to get rid of it entirely, will have to do so soon.

I have done 455 for one rep...
405 for four
No straps, no belt...

I am only 19 so i think i am doing pretty well..:fro:

I felt like king of the world when I hit 4 plates for 5's, you know you're one of the big boys then.

I have done 405 lbs. for like 2-3 reps haha but that was when I was only 15-16 years old. I dont know what I could do now havnt a clue!

:D:D

Damn...not bad...

Thanx for taking the wind out of my sails...

lol...

Nothing is ever gonna stop me anyway...
I have a starting job waiting for me next year...

I actually did it when i was 18...but i tore my ACL so no more deadlifts for a while...

As sad as it is I have the best deadlift in my gym, but the record is close to falling, went in with dissto today and he pulled 445lbs for 3 sets of 5, asshole..........

lol you can do it needsize, show them punks at park how its done,i tried some deads today after my other back work and i could hardly stand after one set with the bar, hence no trap of calf work which pissed me off,i think its time to visit the doc

I had my best high-rep deadlift ever today. I am 6'2", 230 lbs. I pulled 405 for 12 reps! I was so stoked! After 3 or 4, I could see over my shoulder in the mirror that nobody was lifting, everyone was looking at me. That is the coolest feeling since January when I squatted 315 for a set of 20.
Afterward, when I was on the floor, gasping and wheezing like a dying animal, one guy came up to me and said that I motivated him to train harder, that maked me feel really good. Than a girl told me that she bets I destroy my girlfriend in bed, that made me feel even better!

Yeah..I might be able to deadlift 185 for a couple.

Just missed 580 at 215 at my last meet. Used too little chalk and the bar got stuck on my teardrops on the way up. It was mine though :). Looking to go 600 at my next meet! Doesn't get more caveman than deadlifting: Load a bar with iron and try to pick it up. Ugh!

Heavywear, I was wondering when you were going to reply to this thread, that's an impressive deadlift!

Hey Big Country...

I remember doing sets of 20 in the summer...
I got up to doing 340 for 20..

When i finished my head felt like it was going to explode....

405 for 12 reps on deadlift...wow...that's pretty damn good..

Hopefully i will be able to do that soon enough.

Gotta take my time though

Have a bummed Knee...
Oh well

i sumo'ed 350 for 5 sets of five going all the way down...... i was on a platform..... im looking to pull about 500 off the floor in december......... i use straps.........HEY BFOLD..... whats the best thing to do specifically for your grip concerning the deadlift?

X

Get a thick bar!!! You can get some cold rolled steel or just steel tubing and have a collar welded on them. You need one that is 1.9", that is standard for tubing but you can get 2" cold rolled though. Try deadlifting with it. I believe that 620 is the record right now at the deadlift with a 2" bar.

my deadlift sucks because I have small hands I weighted 271lbs. I did it last year when I got beat by Ed coan at the mountainer cup 2.

Haven't done deads in quite a while. But when I was doing them,
I pulled 202.5kg for 10 reps and 230kg for 5 reps. I used straps but no belt. I weighed 97.5kg at the time.
