Went from 0 lifting experience OR football experience and 3rd string on the team to first string starter/best defensive player on the team by mid-season.keep in mind my school had about 70 players on the team. We had about 5 strings worth of linebackers. hard work + heart let me overcome alot to get to the top.

i would have no chance though...theyve all been lifting since end of freshman year. I barely started lifting this past july. Oh well, i could always join some old guy league in a few years and kick ass there.
1_more_rep said:thanks. I really look back and am disappointed as hell in myself. I made the choice to stop football and take all kinds of nerdy AP courses that i would have to go to all these afterschool sessions for and miss practice and have soooo much homework (over 5 hours worth a night).
I wish i played sophomore year and junior year and this year. Everytime i go to a game i just want to put on a uniform and get out there.i would have no chance though...theyve all been lifting since end of freshman year. I barely started lifting this past july. in a few years. Still think about it though, my HS is Division I in football by the way, so its not like i just surpassed a few crappy players that had no futures. Guys that i was passing up are getting some scholarships now to some schools in kansas, etc. still rather go all the way in school and just play sports for fun though.
as nerdy as that sounds lol

biteme said:Little league baseball. I was 7-0 with 3 shutouts and 1 no hitter. Had a 15 batter strikout game. 8th grade football: By the end of the offseason, I was the second strongest on the team despite being a cornerback. Senior year of highschool: Strongest in the school on the BP. Despite high expectations as a running back (Coach said I had a chance to be the best player to ever come out of the school) it was disappointing. I had a fallout with the head coach and had an average season. We had a terrible offensive line and I liked to run into people and over them rather than run away from them. Strongest on the bench press on my JC football team. Set the bench press record on the football team at North Texas State university. Ran a 4.46 forty. Won 2nd place in powerlifting at the National Collegiate Championships. Did over 100 pushups in a row for the first time at the age of 33. Had 1st ranking on the physical fitness test at the 2 police depts. I applied for. Did a one arm pullup without using the other arm and I'm still paying for it.
nicely done.MattTheSkywalker said:If you're into college hoops, you might have spotted me on SportsCenter. I was on there twice, once for sending a game to OT with a 3-pointer and once for a 3-pt play that invovled an impressive (if I do say so myself) slam dunk against the #1 team in the country.
We got killed though.

MattTheSkywalker said:Nah..my younger brother was in Sports Illustrated and alost cast for a movie about streetball, but that's as close as we came to any of that shit.
the script writers injected much more true to life reality into that show than most peeps would like to admit out loud!biteme said:Like Al Bundy said, "Everyday I get out of bed, go to a job that I hate. nycgirl said:1) Summer camp @ school; I was 12. I was playing dodgeball and a girl on the opposite team decided to headhunt me. The ball had a piece of glass in it. It just missed my eye and hit an inch from the corner of my eye. It bled and I had a bandage put on it. I went back into the game & caught the last ball. My team one. Needless to say, I was the reason Dodgeball was banned at my school. Oh, and I still have the scar.
2) Last December, I got down to an 8 minute mile.
3) Before school, work and my project became overwhelming, I squatted 140lbs.
dodgeball scar = HOT! on a girl!

8 minute mile! jerk - you run better than I do (i hate running though so eh).
140 lbs - nice! as long as they were ass to the grass!![]()
nycgirl said:LOL. Thanks.
I consider 8-minute mile slow. My goal was to get down to a 7 minute mile. I don't think I can run faster than that without losing lots of muscle. If there was a way I could lift and train to run at least a 10K race, I would. I haven't figured it out yet.
Of course!!!

isn't the world record like 9.79?EnderJE said:100m dash. ~13 seconds
Then I took up smoking. I coulda been a contender!
Yep. See how shitty ~13 seconds is? Every runner in Canada who tries to complete at the top level can at least make ~11. Serious college runners can usually make ~13 - ~15.Beachbum1546 said:isn't the world record like 9.79?
I could have sworn I ran a 13 sec 100m in 9th grade. During weight training my senior year I was running a 4.7 40, so I'm pretty quick.EnderJE said:Yep. See how shitty ~13 seconds is?
