You guys use a different withdraw needle every time?

One of my buddies who has been juicing for 15 years told me his doctor said it was ok to use the same withdraw needle multiple times. It seems to me like sterility might be an issue? what do you guys think?

I do this all the time for 2 reasons.

speed. I use a larger need to withdraw and pull substances out of vial or amp.

sharpness. It can be a real pain to insert into muscle after needle has been through the rubber stopper or touches the bottom of a glass amp.

I usually use the withdraw needle for about a week, wipe it down with iso-alcohol before and after withdraw.

I use a new one every single time. I'd rather be safe than sorry, hell they are dirt cheap so why risk it. I'm sure it's not as much of a risk as using an injecting needle over but, I'd rather pay a few more cents than have to worry about it.

well, considering teh high price of needles at around 25 cents a pop i can totally understand using the same needle.

I agree.

For the price being so cheap, why risk it.

If you buy a gearbox you can get the syringes with a 18 or 20g already on it to draw with. so the draw pins are somewhat thrown in free. mind as well

Scaggs

if you really want to save needles, you could use one needle, and preload a whole bunch of darts for later use.......(using a new needle to inject of course.

but yeah, like everyone said, they are so cheap anyway......

ive done it when i ran out and just used iso alcohol to clean it.. i would draw up some iso into the syringe a few times then draw the oil up and swtich to a new needle..

now i order pins with a 20g and draw then pop a 25g on there and shoot

first cycle I used 2 draw pins, but always a new inject needle,no infection or anything,I wont however do it again and I will stock up before hand

1). Wipe area and top of vial with alcohol, let dry, draw and shoot same 22g. needle/syringe then throw away.

Next time repeat step one with a new needle/syringe, haven't had a problem yet.

I suppose the needle gets a little dull passing through the rubber first but, it's no big deal to me.

I feel the same way. The only way I would use the same one to draw multiple times is if preloading a few, and generally I dislike preloading the syringe too.

I use a different needle every time. They are cheap and easy to get, so I just don't want to risk an infection.

Just for clarification I do use a new withdraw & inject needle everytime, rather it was my buddy's doctor's advice that I found questionable.

when you buy syringes with needles "as one", vs. buying syringes separately and needles separately, can you take the needle off to inject and twist on the needle usedfor withdrawing, and then putting the injecting needle back on?

in other words, when you buy syringes with needles do they come as one piece or do you still have to actually attach the needle to the syringe. i am asking this because i am planning on using different needles for withdrawing and injecting and i am new to this. responses and help appreciated!

I have used the needles twice when I'm using separate pins for withdraw & inject. I thought I was gonna run a bit short for this cycle so I started to conserve before I got to the end.....just ordered 100 pins today so no more worries.

I always draw it out with an 18 guage and shoot it with a 22 or 23 guage.

I use a new every time. My biggest worry is possible buildup of tiny rubber particles from viles. Nobody wants infection, so its not even feasible for me to use the same one. Even at chances of infection at less than a million to one, why even consider it?

my father is a dr/surgeon=I can not ever think of a 'sensible vs health risk reason why a dr' would say its ok..where did he get his degree'night school' geesh.to stay fit you have to stay healthy.simple answer..NO.people do not realize the bacteria 'issue' is often over looked until its too late..

ya it just seems SO common sense that you would use a new needle each time. who in their right mind (well maybe a heroin addict) would reuse a needle?
