You Crybabies Make Me Sick

bigguns7

New member
This board has turned to total shit once again due to total immaturity and irrational behavior on the part of our mods and veteran members.

There are people in their late 20's, 30's, and 40's arguing like children over shit that should have no effect on them whatsoever.

I liked this board because it was inhabited by ADULTS who discussed pertinent issues and make occasional wisecracks about each other.

Now this board has turned into a political pissing match to rival any PTA meeting or kid's tee-ball game.

I hope you all grow up to be head of your respective homeowner's associations so that you can have the power to tell people what color to paint their houses and when to cut their grass. But until then, do us all a favor and keep the politics out of the other members faces and discuss this bullshit in PM's and e-mails.

I always figure I have enough drama in my real life....so I avoid the online variety. I'm too busy for it. I play on ef to escape the insanity and pissiness of my job....not to seek out more of the same. ;)

someday I will rule the potato people and all eyes will be on me. until then I will command the butternutsquash people with my iron fists of fury.

What is wrong with discussing politics on a chat & conversation board? That is a mature and adult topic which requires one to be well-read and opinionated. If you don't like politics, it's simple, don't read the threads. Most who discuss politics here are also deep into fitness and post on other boards as well. I'm sure George would not have a C&C board if he didn't feel there was a desire for it amongst members.

Why are you attempting to control the thoughts of others?

No, I mean I kill you motherfucker. :D

That's actually an old expression I used to use when I got drunk and started fights, lol.

Ah, from back in the old days, like when you were 17? I don't really say much when I toss people out of my bar for fighting. You won't have to worry about that whole bar thing for another two years though. LOL.:elephant:

Sounds like we need to have a thread on reading comprehension skills.

I don't oppose conversations on politics, if fact, I enjoy them. It is the politics between moderator and member which is getting old. I'm not talking about threads on global warming and domestic policy, I'm talking about "he-said she-said" threads and "mod power-abuse threads." These are private matters which could be handled privately.

Not really a comprehension problem, your comments were unclear to me, especially since I stay miles away from any mod vs member grudge matches. I assumed you meant politics in the sense that I referred to it.

Anyway, as Rosanne-Rosanadana used to say: "Never mind"

If there is an uproar, it's because something is very wrong with the situation. I typically do not care for the drama BS that goes on around here, it usually has no bearings on my life, but if something that goes on around here that will affect my experience on this board and make it less enjoyable for me, then I'm going to speak up and say something.

In situations like this, it would be difficult to be handled via PMs because too many people are interested and involved now. You do however have the option of not reading the threads regarding the politics of this board, just like how I tend to skip over the threads about stools.

And that's what I'm doing. Whether or not smalls stole a password and dballer posted something on triedia and corn and ryanh had someone banned is of no consequence to any of us except the people involved.

And it wouldn't even be so bad if they had threads specifically devoted to these issues so that I could avoid them. But these issues come up in threads that are totally unrelated, so they're really difficult to avoid.

That's what I mean by my original thread, these stupid politics and pissing matches have permiated EVERY aspect of the board, and they are souring what used to be a pleasant and beneficial experience to the regular posters here.

I hear what you're saying. There are way too many threads. It would be nice if it was kept to one or two...I'm having a tough time keeping up with all of them!!

As for whether it is of any consequence to any of us, well, the thing is, it IS of consequence to MANY of us...I find myself continously coming back to this place for the people, the people who have good advice, are witty, intelligent, and sometimes shocking or instigative. If it weren't for the people who posts here making this message board what it is, then you would see me posting at Triedia or some other website instead of this one. So you see, it IS of consequence to some of us who stays and who goes.

I have to confess though that I secretly do hope that everyone whose posts I enjoy get banned, then I might be a little more productive with my work!!! ;)

I hear what you're saying, and this is the exact reason that all of this drama is bullshit. Those people aren't banished forever, they've just been robbed of their identities. They can come back and be the same people we all know and love (or hate as the case may be). As you see, smalls was gone for a total of 8 seconds, only to return under a different handle, and I'm sure dballer will do the same.

So the only real issue here is that these people are being stripped of their oh-so-precious internet identities. Who cares besides them? I hope you don't.

I agree 100%. No, it's not that I care about their oh-so-precious internet IDs, I'm with you on that. But I'm not with you, in that, I'm against the power to ban usernames altogether because

It serves absolutely no purpose.

It just boggles me how much of a big fuss is being made over banning an ID when it serves absolutely no purpose in the first place. Just let them be [here]. I'm disgusted at the the whole stupid played out dramatics involved with bannings and the poor judgement I see being made regarding who gets banned.

Ahhhhh. Then we're much more in agreement than I thought:D

Wait...I have to add an exception to that statement. Banning usernames DOES serve a purpose. Banning names like DICK_IN_ASS_TIMOTHY, Angry_White_Trash, Big Black Bitch
or ARYAN_BROTHERHOOD is VERY useful. Banning people who insist on causing trouble on this site hating on everyone here is somewhat useful because it makes it more of a hassle for them to have to keep registering to come back as a new user. Those 2 reasons I see as a reason to ban a username.

But somewhere along the line, someone thought this banning business would be a good way to stir up some more shit by banning regular users who contribute to this board on a regular basis....that is when things took a turn for the worst.

I have to disagree with this statement. I don't think these bannings stemmed from anyone trying to stir up shit. Rather the mods were seeking to punish people for their apparent TOS violations. I don't think you can blame the mods for doing their "job". Perhaps some get a little overzealous, but most are acting in the best interest of the board.

Personally I am against banning in almost every instance. If you look at this situation. The parties involved have already been "punished" regardless of whether they are banned or not.

Smalls - had the picture she was trying to keep from getting published, published.
Boach/GT - Most likely had a falling out with his friend, and probably lost a lot of respect from people on the board.
Dballer - Well he is stuck being Dballer, and I think most would agree that is punishment enough :D

Zen, I didn't mean that literally....:) I'm just making up reasons at this point. Just trying to say that other than those 2 reasons I stated in my previous post, purpose of banning regular users who've made a violation against the TOS is lost on me.

What you said about what happened being punishment enough, that is how I feel about the situation.
