Not suprising it's a PR because this is only the 2nd time I've done sumos but whatever

:fro:

495 x 5! Still a good 50lbs lighter than my trap bar deadlift but I'm on a fuckin roll and 545 will be my bitch by the end of the month, trust me. having a partner really fired me up because hes a LOT bigger than me (like 250lbs solid but weak as fuck on legs luckily)

squatted 225 for 6, 315 for 6 then onto the main course

405 for 6 followed by 455 for 2 sets of triples. Solid!

3 sets of sumos 5 rep sets, worked up to 495

stiff legged 405 for 6 (tired as fuck so I didnt go to failure)

finished off with as many reps as I could get in 10 minutes in the highbar pause squat with 315 , I lost count after 20 or so :)

weighted crunches and I 'forgot' to do calfs again :p

All in all a good workout, those supersquats really put the regular stuff into perspective.

The best kind of karma! Thanks :p

sebass I can't really do regular deads (well I can, but I spend the next couple of days doing the one-cheek-sneak whenever I sit down on account of my sciatica) but I pulled 6 plates with the trap bar last month.

shit yeah sushi sounds like a good idea and theres a place just 5 mins up the street from me. Thanks for the comments guys it means a lot coming from my iron bredrin.

Hopefully I can get my squat to 455 for 5's by xmas too :)

Nonerz I eat Sushi like models sniff coke. I spend 30-100 dollars a week on it. it's an addiction.

Tweakle that's awesome, but out of curiousity why are you squatting and doing 2 separate kinds of deadlifts in one session? That seems like a lot.

It's actually a lot less than 99% of people would do. I'm a reformed HITer who goes close to failure & I balance that reduction in intensity by adding another set or 2. Works pretty well for me but I have no illusions it's a perfect workout scheme lol all I know is that the best routine in the world is one I'm not doing.

If you break it down I'm doing 3 heavy sets of squats, and one lighter set none of which are taken to failure

Only 2 of those deadlift sets were 'hard' work.

I'm only working my lower body once a week alternating this routine with 20 reppers/front squats/stiff legs.

Not really that excessive
