Finally! I've been on a hiatus the past 2 weeks studying for the LSAT, just got back from taking it. Since studying took up about 6-7 hours each day, I haven't stepped into a gym since. Needed the break tho. So tomorrow, I'm gonna figure in some strongman techniques into my program. Focus on the big lifts, with less emphasis on isolation exercises. Can't wait to burn it up tomorrow! For now, I'll have to limit my workouts in the gym, but in the meantime, any good sites that explain how to build sleds, other strongman equip, etc?

By the way, killah, how's the training/shoulder going?

what's up Booey? feel's good to get back, doesn't it? rip shit apart bro! Shoulder's doing good, ART is a godsend, although I have had to cancel my last 3 appointments thanks to work. Honestly bro, just type in "strongman sled" or "strongman equipment" or "homemade strongman equipment" and shit like that into google. That's what I did and there definitely wasn't just one place with all the answers, but a bunch of sites with a bunch if info. Also, if you want to PM me your email addy, I can send to pics that kingc sent me of his equipment.
For me, I am just getting started, kinda broke, and don't have a yard or room to stroe shit, so I kind of just messed around a bit. I bought to ez-curl bars and plates for the farmers walks, bought some 50-pound bags of sand and duct taped the hell out of them and used them to carry and run with and load onto some high wall I found. I am still working on a sled (I think I made a thread with pics on this forum). B fold gave me a great idea for the yoke walk - buy a regular straight bar and put chains on the ends and loop them thru some plates. If you make the chain the right length, you will be able load it onto your back without having to lift all the weight off the ground (by bending down a bit).

Thanks killah. Today was my first day back in the gym, felt awesome. Lost some strength (literally did nothing but study and ate only 2meals/day for the past 2 weeks), but I think all should be good in about 2 weeks or so. Till then I'm gonna do some research on homemade equipment. The 50 pounds bag of sand, are those heavy enough? Do you hold them until failure, or only for a certain amount of time/length. Also, how do these "outside" events figure into your program? thanks bro.

Get a big duffle bag and fill it with 50 pound bags of sand. I have one here that is 200 pounds and it SUCKS to pick up and carry...lol.

the bags are not heavy enough, but I am starting out light cause of the shoulder. the last thing I want to do is hurt it again! my split looks like this:
m: back / traps
t: chest / abs
w: cardio
th: legs
f: arms/shlders
Sat = strongman day. I just head out to a large parking lot and spend a few hours just going at it. it's fun as hell!

sun: rest, rest, rest.
