they were comfortable as hell right out of the box and they have that wrap-around sole on the heel so they don't get all bitched-up while i'm driving. . .

they're timberlands and, i agree, they are a little busy. . .kind of a cross b/t a moccasin, a bowling shoe and maybe like a rock-climber. . .they are damn comfortable, though. . .sometimes even forget that i have them on. . .
