houses flooded to the roof tops...people being resuced from the peak of their shingles...looked like new orleans after the federal Corps of Engineers defective levies here failed.

paraphrasing the IDIOT congressman who made headlines right after Katrina....

"why would anyone live in a flood zone?"

"why should we rebuild an area that floods?"


given enough water in a shot period of time, almost anywhere floods.

Same reason they live along the coastlines.. It's nice when they are not being hammered by a hurricane

surely the avg coastling peep has insurance to pay for the inevitable.
so they pay for the consequences, which in my mind, makes it fair

I have seen it. Right where that 4 year old got ripped out of her moms arms is where my uncle used to live..He sold last summer and moved. Good thinking!

almost the whole parish I live in is in a flood zone but most areas haven't flooded in 20+ years and we all pay out the ass for any insurance in Louisiana...especially now after Katrina. We are 1st or 2nd in paying the highest insurance premiums in the nation!!

That shit happened 20 min north of me, It didnt flood here at all though.

Someone post the pics. It happened about 20 miles from me... Other areas were hit just as hard and they said it looked like New Orleans. I heard it raining hard all night, but I'm not in a flood zone.
