wrist pain

Anyone know whats up with wrist pain? All of a sudden I started having nagging wrist pain in both of my hands, the upper side (away from the palm) on the right side. Since it was only one week untill my scheduled week long break, I decided to extend my break to two weeks. In the 6 days off I have taken so far my right wrist no longer bothers me, however, my left on is still aching, or hurting, rather. Its only a sharp pain when I flex my wrist downward. Any ideas on what is causing this? Or how to treat it?

None in the past 5 years. I used to occasionally have minor shoulder trouble when I swam, but this is a first with weightlifting.

There are lots of things that can cause this. Everything from typing too much, sleeping funny, or working out. I know barbell curls kill my wrists. Is the pain more towards the palm, or the back of your hand? Center, sides? This is probably going to be doctor territory.
 
Its more towards the top (away from the palm and on the sides.) I donno why I didn't think of this before, but I had my g/f, who is a Physicians Assistant, take a look at it and she thinks it is a strained tendon (she did a whole bunch of where does it hurt when I do this type things). So, I am continuing my R & R, and let it heal up a bit.

my wrists bother me on pressing movements and dips, i use wrist wraps, they alleviate most all of the pain and discomfort. i don't mean to reccomend to ignore the injury, just a way to work around once you've sorted it out.
 
Wrist Wraps- try Ace Bandage its easy to alter the tightness on your whole wrist, and try ice at night too.
