I’m thinking it’s a combination of:
1) Being bullied over their school years by jocks because as a rule most punk bands have the physique of a hardened heroine addict.
2) The probability that an overbearing father figure tried to push them away from ‘being in a band’ and more toward perhaps their own career area of business.
3) Jealousy of those who have accomplished something that will last longer than a top 40 hit.
4) Because the last popular punk band hated jocks and corporate America.
5) Because they know their audience is mainly constructed by kids whose sole ambition in life is to stand out by coloring and spiking their hair and piercing and tattooing their bodies while wearing ‘vintage’ T-Shirts and baggy pants. Please note that while millions of kids to these things each one is ‘unique’ because of it.
6) they are losers.
7) b/c they need to appear as far away from the mainstream as possible.

I think punk music does not get enough attention in the corporate radio industry, and this guy has a good point, that's why it struck a chord with him, and he's not alone.

nothing_to_say, is improper spelling considered 'punk' as well?

Well this guy has a point. Corporate America would be more dangerous than ever if punkbands weren't around to spark up a Revolution!!!

dude, seriously. seriously.
it's because corporate america places profits before people. we live lives of cushioned misery and emptiness and boredom here in america. most people seem fine with this, but then there are going to be some people who aren't ok with it. and really, the reason the system is set up this way is because it's most advantageous for the progress of capitalism. so obviously, people who are drawn to punk rock because they despise the boredom and emptiness of modern american life, and the questionable replacement of individual cultural and spiritual stimulation with materialistic creature comforts, are going to hate corporate america.
if you like life the way it is in modern america, then there's no reason for you to even be involved in the culture of punk rock. "liking the music" is not enough, because punk is far more a way of perceiving the world than a style of music. i mean, after all, do the ramones really sound anything like atari teenage riot? do either of those bands sound anything like dillinger escape plan?

oh please, they arent going to be changing jack shit in the world by writing songs/poetry/articles etc.
there will never be a 'revolution' brought on by 'punk' music.
