well, my room mate is planning on building a gym in the next year or 2, and i was in the market for some weight plates for my sled. i caught wind of a gym that was getting torn down and they needed to get rid of the equipment. we just went over there.
long story short:
my roommate bought
2 flat benches
1 incline bench
1 decline bench
1 power rack with weight tree built in (hyuge!)
1 seated military press station
1 smith machine
1 cable crossover
1 3 station lat pulldown
1 chest supported tbar row
1 hack squat
1 2 sided squat rack with weight tree. (shaped like a pyramid)
about 2-3000+ in plates
dbells from 70-110
dbell racks 3-4 of them
3 weight trees
floor mat for a large room
this is a rough estimate of all that he bought, there was alot of other stuff too. he basically bought the whole room.
final cost: $3000
he put a deposit of $200 on it, and we are going to find out about renting a truck and getting that stuff out of there.
i stipulated a finders fee too. a GLUTE/HAM RAISE (well old school adjustable slant board with padded leg rest shaped like a triangle), about 400lbs in plates, and a handle to pull my sled with. not a bad days work for me.
just a ridiculous deal. if i had a house or place, i would have jumped on alot of that equipment myself. they wanted $200 for the power rack, thats it! it was fat too, but i have no where to keep it. weight was $.25 a lb.
crazy.
