My old job was "saving lives".
My employer was the american citizens. I was a Navy Corpsman, I spent my time with both the Marine Corps, and Some Guys that that specialized in removing bad guys from this planet. I faced the reality of death on a daily basis, and life by the minute. I would not hesitate to immediately act in any life threatening situation. We all face physiological, and psychological instincts that can make us heroes or cowards in a split second. I applaud anyone for acting to save a life, especially if that life is an innnocent victim. I applaud the average man/woman who have acted to save a life, these men/woman have not trained countless hours to control their fight or flight instincts. They are brave people who are a very small percentage of their race. Being part of both sides, I have great appreciation for those who place themselves in situations to save and protect their fellow citizens.
It is NEVER like the movies, I have trembled with fear and entered the silent world in both situations.
There is no brotherhood like the bond created between men in the face of life or death, even if a brief instant, their lives are forever joined and only they know the bond created in their spirit.
