would you rather be deaf or blind

personally music is such a huge thing, I'd rather be blind. My buddies could tell me if a chick was fine or not ;)

If I had to choose between the loss of sight and the loss of hearing, I would definitely choose hearing.

I woke up blind one day last year due to clots causing an arterial occlusion. That was the worst day of my life. I couldn't even dial 911, because I couldn't see the touch screen on my cell phone.

Thankfully, I regained most of my vision, and only suffered a 5% loss of peripheral vision... but it made me appreciate vision, and gave me insight into what a blind individual experiences.

BTW, I dumped the touch screen cell phone as soon as I could. The number pad on cell phones always have a "bump" on 5. I encourage everyone to have a phone with a dedicated number pad. In a worst case scenario, you can dial without seeing.

Deaf...I'm already very hard of hearing and have long since learned to adjust to it so that I can even function normally without hearing aids. I love music, too, but I'd be lost without being able to look into the eyes of my lover, or see the fall colors, or the teal blue of the carribean ocean, or the purple hue of the sky when it's snowing at night.

holy God that would terrify the shit out of me. Im glad you came through that ok.

Deaf. If you have sight you can still watch TV and porn, plus I can still reach for my beer and a chew...which is all I need to survive.

deaf..... no doubt about it

sight is prolly your best physical sensor

id pick it over touch, taste, hearing, speaking anyday

Tough choice, but in spite of sacrificing many of the things I love, I'd choose deafness. Blindness would be too much of an obstacle for daily functioning.

I'd choose to be blind even tho both will be cured in 11 years. My reasoning would be music and just touching shit.

both deaf and blind then i want to die on fire, maybe a freak styrofoam and gasoline fire. like a homemade napalm, just screaming in agony until the lights go out.

I would only do that if I could flame out in the playground of a Catholic girls school during lunch hour.

This post is like a delicate rose, lost and out of place amidst a fetid cesspool of crazy people and fart jokes.

I've got my fingers crossed.

I love music, but I could never imagine not being able to see my daughters face again. So I would have to go with deaf. Good thing is I would never have to listen to her whine about shit..

I can't hear much either.
Some of it stems from having tubes in my ears as a child.
The rest is from working at clubs and not using ear plugs.
My ears would ring for 3 days after I worked.
They ring 24/7/365 now. I hate it!
I would hate to choose but I like seeing things!
