Would you be a Godfather for your friends child if they asked?

I bet the kid is a brat and you're praying the parents never die.
It's a combination of things - she has become someone I don't even know anymore (and don't want to), I can't stand being around them and all their bickering and manipulating (yes the kids have learned well from mommy and daddy) but the bottom line is because I don't like being around them and I have not spent a lot of time with the kids which in my opinion makes me a poor choice for Godparent.

No. Not only no, but hell no.

My girlfriend's daughter. Yes. But she's 12 and one of the best kids I've ever met.

Godparent means different things in different cultures/religions

Yep...In our culture it means alot more than if the parents croak we take care of the kid as our own.

Also means that if the parents(alive or dead) are having trouble feeding, clothing, etc them then we step in to help.

If the father is a deadbeat and takes off on the mother and child(which I've never ever seen an I Italian man do) we have to help support the child.

In other words fuck no I wouldn't be any of my friends kids godfather.

yes. . .however, in most instances now-a-days it's just a title w/o any real responsibility. . .the parent's will generally negates any imagined responsibility that a godparent might have. . .
