Worst workout advice for chest...ever?

Start your workout with the pec-deck.

move to a smith machine to perform incline bench press.

do some flat dumbbell presses (the one thing i agree with).

then stretch.

here's some awesome quotes:

"In this article I am going to discuss what I feel is the most effective and growth promoting workout for the chest."

"With my chest destroyed beyond belief"- haha after first 2 exercises

i just keep picturing some guy 'spotting' another guy on the pec-deck.

am i totally missing something or is this just flat out funny/

I think the workout it's valid for the purposes he describes based on his personal experience has a bodybuilder and I like the part where he says that the workout it's not for strength and based on progressive overload through weight increments, which totally allows me to say what I said without being beaten to a pulp by my EF bros.

Defintely not the worst. A little pre-exhaustion warm-up with the pec deck. Incline barbell on the Smythe is not always bad thing. Much better than flat on the Smythe IMO. Finish with dumbbell presses. Not the best but definitely not the worst.

I do them in the cage because I workout alone but some people like the smith for safety reasons. Like i said it's not going to be the most effective routine for most people but it's defintely not the worst. Depending on your goals this routine may be just fine.

I dunno. i have been training for 13 years and i dropped bb presses on some good advice. I do 3 different chest excercises one each workout DC style and incline(30 deg) always seem to work me the best as far as DOMS, I know that is not a key indicator, but I will stick with them. the other 2 I use are inc DB's and Hammer presses, currently anyway.

The Hammer press machines are not bad. The weight adds up too witch is a good thing, especially when training DC. I could never really progress on incline smith press, or any smith presses for that matter. I am much stronger on the free weight barbell versions.

I really dislike the pec deck, though. I've wasted enough time on them to have a definite opinion. If you want to do flies use dumbbells. Cables are OK but IMO a distant second.
