what server are you on?

whatcha talking about

i don't play warcraft

i used to play starcraft on pc

warcraft and starcraft are the crack and meth of the e-universe. i refuse to install that shit on my computer, because while its fun killing that level 17 troll and getting the armlet of far seeing, i would really rather spend that time with a real live flesh and blood girl in my bed thankyouverymuch

Sometimes I'd like to veg out and play WOW or something for a weekend, the trouble is that is won't stop with just the weekend. After playing Ultima Online for 2-3 years and dark age of camelot for 1-2 years I figured out I can't play those type of games. Made a bunch of money on ebay, though.

I got sucked into Wolfenstein 3-D back in the late 80s. I burned an entire night playing that stupid game - literally until 6 am and then I had nightmares about killing all the German Shepherds. I deleted it from my computer. I just can't let myself get sucked into that stuff. The virtual worlds like Second Life are fascinating to me, but again, I spend my whole day online for work and half the night on the boards -- need to get a real life somewhere in there...

Heard of it; never seen it; let's train legs then have sex.

Everyone equip healing potions to the hotbar if you haven't already. Uh, Kyle, go ahead and cast arcane brilliance to raise our intelligence.

I am socializing, r-tard. I'm logged on to an MMORPG with people from all over the world, and getting xp with my party using teamspeak!

i know where youre coming from. when i was in grade 12 (2 yrs ago) there was a game called star wars galaxies. its premise is like WOW- just an online RPG only set in the star wars universe. well it consumed my life. my grades plummeted, my player skills in RL went even FURTHER down and for 7 months i didnt lift weights, dropped out of the wrestling team and failed soo many assignments just because i was too busy "guild raiding" on swg or "PVPing" or getting resources and making money.

i DID however manage to become the number one player fighter on my server ( i was a god even on the forums) and i had the best gear.. but alas what good is that for the social life. finally realizing that this game was the root of all my problems, i cancelled my subscription and sold my account for 250 bucks canadian and retired from the game.

i've only enjoyed 2 games, or even played 2 games for more than a minute, in the last 10-12 years: warcraft 2, warcraft 3.

i'm sure a shitload of those real-time battle games have come and gone since then...what are the best ones since wc3? the ones that look like wc3, more or less, i mean (i.e. 3/4 top-down view of an entire map area, etc.)

How apt.

Do you wear a heavy padlock around your neck as well, donut man?

LMAO

It could mean the end of the world...................of warcraft...but seriously that southpark episode was amazing.

Eci! Eci!

Any FOH members here? Nothing like an uber guild to suck any prospect of external contact with other life. I think they required, like, 10-12 hours a day in the game, lol.

*raises hand*

I am a WoW addict. I recently started and love the game. It's a nice little get away, and it's cheap entertainment. Lucky for me, I can get my fix on less than an hour a day :)

Ultima Online was the best game of all time imo. It has changed and now sucks, but when it first came out, not even WoW compares to the fun it provided.

we should have sex. it will tear you away from the game for about 5 seconds and you will like the game even more afterwards. there it is, glad i could help :p

I am an Everquest player myself. I work at night (7pm to 7am) so when I am up at 0400 there isn't really much else to do, and when I am stuck at home on my weeksends with the kids it is good to hop on when they are asleep. It doesn't have to rule your life though. I much prefer getting laid to playing that game.

I have no idea what these games are about. The last PC game I played was DOOM.

I sold my main character for $900 6 or 7 months ago and have not played my other since.

My teenage boys are deep into it. I reluctantly bought it for them because they really wanted it.

I hate to be an accomplice to my own sons becoming geek-like when they should be out playing basketball or baseball.

The game is intended to be addicting. End game guilds are run like companies, requiring written applications and most have a manditory raid schedule. My sister-in-laws boyfriend was the guildmaster of the last one I was in, and we have a manditory 24 hour a week raid schedule, spread over 4 days. If you missed 3 days in 30 day period of time without a good excuse and permission you were automatically cut from the team.

Once you get to the end game and start raiding Wow becomes a second job.

Glad I only allow my kids to play on weekends -- after chores.

Now that the xpac is out some of my old friends want me to level up my shaman to 70 to raid with them. He is still 60 because I have not played him in 6 months and is still in BWL, AQ40 and Naxx epics.

I might start playing casually again in a month or two and see if I like the BC xpac, and level him up to 70. However I don't see myself raiding hardcore anymore. Maybe once a week... I am offline friends with the guildmaster of a horde raid guild I played him in some, so I could probably tag along once a week with being required to play 20-30 hours a week.

how far did you get in Naxx? and on what server?

I was in a serious raiding guild that consumed all my social opertunities last year, when BC was close to comming out that guild split and I took it as an excuse to transfer servers and become relativly casual.

Teirvaxx, I was alliance side on Firetree in The Lucky Strikes (we only got to C'thun no Naxx), horde side I was on Mug'thol in Sureshot. We got to the grand widow in Naxx but had not downed her when I stopped playing.

WoW = EQ for children, HTH.

:cow:
I played EQ...it had a alure to it that I really miss but the game itself was always broken imo.

I kinda agree with the more childlike feel of WoW but the game itself is a drastic improvement.

In paticular, the raid encounters in EQ where obsenly simplistic compared to high end WoW fights.

The C'Thun encounter in paticular was just awesome.

my old guild killed C'Thun (my favorit fight), also cleared spider wing, killed Noth, Raz, and was working on patchwerk when it collapsed.

Though we killed Grand Widow she was often a cock block and by far my least favorit fight, we'd often get a mind control resist and then she'd kill the tank.

I play an Undead warlock on Rexxar btw.

This is just so wrong on so many levels.

A have to agree on teh C'thun fight. It is absolutely amazing and very different from any other fight in the game. The team work and coordination required on it from all 40 people in the raid was mind boggling at first.

I played a human priest and an orc shaman (which I still have and can renew playing at any time).

I actually enjoy the Nefarian encounter as well for some reason. Even the 30th or 40th time, although the rest of BWL gets boring very fast once it is on farm status.
