Workout w/broken ribs

I just finished a cutting cycle and love my results. However, I broke a couple of ribs this past weeekend in some boating activities. Now I don’t want to loose all my hard work and effort while my ribs heal. Any suggestions on workouts or things to aid a recovery? Note: I’m also starting a bridge with Primo for the next 10 weeks (200 mg/ week)..

Never had my ribs broken but as I know they heal pretty fast. I'd won't train at all a couple of weeks... Nuh, I better bump for more opinions for you.

Thanks Vovan... appreciate it... I'd hate to see all that work go to waste - but I actually tried to lift some light chest this morning and I couldn't even get 135 off the rack without it hurting like a bitch!!

200mg/wk of primo would help you keep gains and I recomend it.

I broke 2 ribs before in hockey.

All I know is for the first 2-3 weeks I couldn't even sneeze/cough without terrible pain, let alone think about working out. Fuck, sometimes it even hurt to breath deeply. :(

If they are really broke I don't think you will be training for a bit.

Anyway............good luck bro.

As healing progresses try to massage between the ribs to increase blood flow and minimize scar tissue in the intercastals. Start working side bends and ROM drills to minimize the detraining.

Don't forget ice and cryotherapy when you can tolerate it.

Best of luck. Snezzing is gonna be a BITCH!!

they heal quick!?! It took over six weeks for my ribs to heal enough to start training again -- maybe that is quick to you but not to me. shit, when I broke my ribs (two seperate times too) they REALLY hurt. It hurt to sneeze, to get up off the bed, to roll over in bed, to breathe (when I first broke them), to rest my back against the back of the chair, etc (I think that you get the point). At first I even had trouble sleeping (although the painkillers helped that). Anyways take some time off and let them heal properly or you will always have some residual pain from time to time; I took time off and I still have some pain some times. Just let your body tell you when you can lift again -- and don't push it!!! Good luck bro I know it hurts like a bitch.

Broken ribs...torn cartilage..... cracked ribs...they all hurt like hell and are called "broken ribs".

Fractures will get a nice callous on them aftwer 3 weeks. Pain will last 6-8 weeks for acute and maybe years afterward. I have broken ribs 4 times.

I once lifted weights for about 4 months.... the pain never ceasing. I finally was x-rayed and the two parts of the rib were not even contiguous..... meaning they didn't touch. I had let NO healing take place and was off for 6-8 weeks.

Go at least three weeks with broken ribs (ID'd on x-ray)and then pain tolerance from there.

Go at least 2 weeks for cracked ribs......cannot tell on x-ray.

Go at least a week for bruised or torn cartilage.

If something actually broke....you need to let the bodies glue do it's thing my man. Let your body heal thyself!

Fuck no dont even go in a gym .It sucks but you have to wait .My friend broke his hand in the middle of his cycle and he lost 30 pounds of muscle .He keep trying to work out but he just made it worse.
