Workman's Compensation...

Any of you ever been on workman's compensation? If so, what for, how long were you out, and were you awarded anything at the end of your hearing?

Thanks.

Yes, I've received worker's comp. It was twice for a shoulder injury, had to have two surgeries. I was out about six months each time. I received 66% of my gross pay, plus my company paid me the other 34%, but your's might not. After I was released by the doctor they gave me an impairment rating, and then I had to go before a worker's comp. hearing to set a dollar amount. The award will be based on your pay at the time of the accident.

I'm sorta on it right now for a broken/dislocated hand.

They take their sweet ass time though.

I tore the medial meniscus in my right knee and had surgery last month to take out the part of the meniscus that was torn. I am a little over 2 weeks post-op right now and was having extreme pain and got another MRI and now there are bone bruises in that knee.

Sorry to hear about your injuries, I have had 2 surgeries on my other shoulder, I know what its like.

With your impairment rating, what % did they declare you impaired and if you dont mind me asking how much was your final settlement for? Also, when you say the award is based on your pay, do you mean the checks you recieve weekly for your time you are out of work or the final settlement that is awarded from the workman's compensation commision?

Thanks.

my pops was on it for years, crushed l4/5 they eventually cut his benefits down to 485 a month and expected us to get by,so now he is hooked on percs and taked like 10 a day so he can work and provide for the family.

workers comp are fucking idiots, and so is pepsi who wouldnt give him a payout and tied it up in court so long he incurred massive debt

I am on pain medication also. Is he seeing a pain management doctor or just his primary physician? My primary physician is treating my pain right now, but I think I should go to a pain management doctor.

he has been to numerous specialists,I dont know if they are called pain management docs but he has had injections right into his spine etc to try and fix it, his condition never improved but they still decided to cut his benifits back to minimal, which is bullshit. so just becareful bro, dont want you to get any unexpected suprise when your case worker says ok your cut off
