Working out gets you tired?

Well, this is kinda funny and had me wondering. I work 40 hours a week, 8 a day. I usually get up at 6 in the morning and go to bed at like 11 so thats like 7 hours a day during the week. Well yesterday I rented a dvd, went to bed at like 12 and slept as long as I could till 10 in the morning (so slept for like 10 hours).

Anyways, today was leg day, consisting of the following:
Squats : 2 x 6-8 reps
Hack Squats : 2 x 6-8 reps
Leg Curls : 2 x 6-8 reps
Straight Legged Deadlifts : 2 x 6-8 reps
Standing Calve Raises : 4 x 10 reps

I did them at like 11 till 12, but now I've been so fucking tired for the whole day. Its like 5 now and I still feel hella tired, its so bad I actually think Im gonna take a nap or something. So I was wondering, I slept 2 hours more then I usually do on a work day, yet I've been tired the whole day?

What gives?

Sounds like this is making you tired! I have the same work schedule...I just go to bed even later than that! Your body is trying to "catch up" on the rest...I do the same thing.

PS...Working Sucks!

Okay, I feel better now!:D

Don't fight your body...When it is telling you to sleep. Go to sleep.
That's when you grow, so why fight it?

Yeah thanks for the replies. When I do feel tired and feel like sleeping I take a nap so thats what I did today. Slept for like a hour.

Anyways, work sux indeed. I have to get up at 6 in the morning, take train at 7, at work at 8:30, work till 5, back home at 6:30, eat, watch some tv and back to sleep at 11. And still work out 3 times a week. :D

So it could just be that my body wants to catch up from not sleeping enough during the week?

When I finish Sunday training...I like to go inside, eat immediately, then sleep for a few hours.

I do the same after DE lower and usually after DE upper if I don't have anything else major to do.

Bigger people need more sleep to recover. Just look at the things that you need to get big. Food, rest, sleep, lots of intensity, etc... The bigger that you get...the more of all of those things that you need.

I love my 1-2 hour naps:)

I agree with B Fold. . .bigger bodies expend lots of energy and require extra rest. For a hard trainer, I think that 10 hours of rest is ideal.

Nope...I'll often change shirts, eat on the couch, then snuggle up with my kids for a while and sleep. :)

Agreed. I would love to be able to sleep ten hours a night.

But having a full time job, a part time job, and going to school full time does not give me that kind of time to sleep.
...chad...

Wow Chad! I thought I had a full plate...working full time, teaching part time and taking one class! I tend to be a night owl too, so that doesn't help any!
